At Augie’s, our story starts in Brooklyn kitchens filled with the smell of simmering sauce, the sound of laughter, and the legacy of Italian tradition. Inspired by his mother, grandmother, and two aunts, our founder, Augie, built a deli that honors family, flavor, and craftsmanship. Now based in Sparta, NJ, Augie brings over 20 years of catering and deli experience to every dish. From our famous crumb cake to creative specialty sandwiches, each item on our menu reflects love, heritage, and a commitment to quality. Our next chapter? Passing the apron to the next generation. You’ll often see Augie in the kitchen with his grandson, keeping the tradition alive. Whether you’re grabbing breakfast on the go, sitting down for lunch, or planning

Bagels were good and fresh. I got 6 bagels for just under $8 which to me is a fantastic price. I think the owner was the one that helped me. He was very nice and prompt. I would for sure go back again.

If 0 stars was an option, they would get it. The absolute worst “bagels” I ever put in my mouth with sour cream cheese. The “cheese steak” is just hot old roast beef on a round roll. This place needs to be SHUT DOWN

Never been here before. Stopped on to get a bagel, it was still warm! And delicious. And the woman who waited on me was happy and pleasant. Definitely going back.

I’m from out of state and so bagels and Taylor ham are a staple when we come to NJ. We came here earlier this week and it was great. Food was amazing and service was spectacular. We came again before we hit the road back home and the young man who was taking orders and making the food (it was 6am and there was 1 other customer so it wasn’t busy at all) was very rude. He prioritized the customer behind us first, burnt the Taylor ham on our sandwiches and told us we couldn’t have an edge piece of crumb cake because it was going to get stale – although the piece he did give us exposed the same amount of edges. Not very happy about the quality.

My favorite spot! The sandwiches here are always super fresh and packed with flavor. I especially love The Drewster — hands down one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. You can tell everything is made with care. Honestly, you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Highly recommend!

Went in for a breakfast sandwich on a bagel. 1 egg, cheese and maybe 2 slices of bacon and with a small coffee (not good coffee) was $7.50. The breakfast sandwich was fine, would have expected more bacon given the price, but all in all a decent breakfast sandwich on a nice bagel. Then I asked the guy what was his favorite sandwich as I wanted to bring one to work for lunch. The Sammie was his recommendation which is chicken cutlet with bacon, roasted red pepper and mozzarella and Peter Lugar sauce. I asked what kind of bread it comes on and he said he does it on a round roll but he could put it on a sub roll or bagel or anything I wanted, so I said sub roll. He also gave me a taste of the chicken salad which tasted great, but looked “not fresh”. Saw him making the Sammie with care, but when I got charged $14.50 for sandwich and a small bag of chips ($2.50), I was surprised because I saw “signature sandwiches” were $8.99 up on the board. Manager (super nice) pointed to the small print on the side that said extra $2.50 for sub roll and $1 for wrap….I guess that was my bad. When I got to work I dug in…Decent flavors and good bread and would have been a really good sandwich (and nice sized even for $12) but the chicken cutlet was dry and hard like a puck (see dark hard cut through chicken in photo, supposed to be white meat….). the cutlet should have been thrown out rather than used for a sandwich. It’s a shame because I remember Augie’s being so great a few years ago….I imagine this was just a one time thing and they are more careful about quality control…I saw them hand slicing deli meat and prepping for the lunch push with care. I love to support a local place like this and will likely be back to give another try.

10 AM in the morning and I go home and open my bag to a very stale plain bagel. The fact that someone cut into this and prepared it knowing it didn’t slice easy, knowing it was very stale as if it was out for days, is extremely disappointing. The bacon, egg, and cheese (2) wasn’t on the traditional Deli rolls; they were on these really small rolls. The bacon wasn’t crispy at all. $18 down the drain that fast smh.

I stopped into Augies for a breakfast sandwich because I happen to be in the area and I’m glad I did! The workers were super friendly, the place was clean, and the bagel/sandwich was awesome! Tasted great and a nice size portion! I’d definitely recommend stopping in if you’re ever in the area. I know I will when I’m back in town!

This bagel shop exceeded all of my expectations. The breakfast sandwiches and cold cut sandwiches are the best around! Rolls and baked goods are a 10/10. I make it a point to stop by whenever I am driving through. I have yet to try something that wasn’t delicious! Employees are extremely helpful if you need some recommendations!

Ordered a Sammi’s favorite which is breaded chicken cutlet mozzarella roasted red peppers and bacon. All I got was dry grilled chicken and a slice of mozzarella on a regular ol generic sub bread not the advertised “rustic Italian bread hero” for $15. No bacon no red peppers no breaded chicken. I don’t know how you mess it up that badly yet still acknowledge part of the order. I used to come here all the time 10 years ago when they had real Italian bread and quality ingredients. Will be skipping next time I’m in town.
