Welcome to Backyard Bistro at Charlotte Crossings. The latest venture of long time restauranteurs and former La Villa Bistro owners, Adam and Jill Spell. Join us for a cocktail and a bite in our newly built bar, dining room and tented outside seating as well as lawn seating in Charlotte. Enjoy fresh dishes prepared in kitchen and pizza oven. Grab a friend and come down to listen to live music (events to be scheduled). Our American Fusion vibe will impress. Dine-in, take out and catering services are available. Backyard Bistro helped us have the most wonderful evening for our company
Christmas party! From start to finish Jill and her team did everything exceptionally well. They came in set up tables and chairs helped with table scapes and had all the apps drinks and amazing food ready. The apps and braised short ribs, mash and vegetables were delicious. It was so amazing to not have worry about anything and know that the food would be amazing. They quietly worked in the background ground the whole evening so that we could enjoy and celebrate our work family. Then cleaned up all the dishes to boot! Could not recommend them more. Will definitely be using them again!

Our server and host were both fantastic, and the fried pickles were good. However, the smash burger was very bland and the bun was stale. The lettuce was browned and limp. The fries were the worst part though. Very obviously cooked hours before and then reheated. Some were completely dry and rubbery, some were just sogged with grease. Drinks were okay but not commensurate with the price.

We had the calamari- mango tastes add its appeals. Then he had the fish taco – claimed it wasn’t the best but still very good. I had the scallops which was divine. Then he had the lemon drop cake while I had the peanut butter explosion. He ate it so fast but he didn’t let a breath in! I savor every bite. You won’t regret going there! Sorry, I only took photos of the desserts!

Cute place but it stank! Don’t know what is going on but you can smell everything going on in the kitchen.

Cocktails were straight up bad. How the hell do you screw up alcohol?!?!
Pulled pork was gross. Steak, bad cut and overpriced. Only positive the guacamole and chips .

Was an overall good first experience here.
The appetizers, drinks, and dessert were spot on. The hostess/bartender/waitress was awesome
Probably wouldn’t recommend the Thai Curry Rice Bowl, by the description we expected more of a Curry Rice and not a “Soup” but that is just preference.
The salmon was delicious, but the dish felt slightly underwhelming for the cost.
We will stop again for appetizers and drinks.

We ordered takeout & were super impressed with the food. The smashburger was slightly smoky, the fresh & fluffy bun was grilled, & the fries were SUPER good. OThe fried chicken sammich was similarly excellent – same bun, big juicy fried thigh. We chose a salad w/this one, & it came with crisp greens, sliced almonds, chevre & a light vinaigrette. Both these sammiches made us want to return & eat in!

Stopped at Backyard bistro with my family w/out reservation or expectations. We were seated at a nice table and the food and service were excellent. Well balanced menu. There is a nice area out back for children to play.

Great little spot had a cozy atmosphere and food was great. The waitress was great as well and very attentive. I had the fish tacos which were very good. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Excellent food and drink. I had chicken Marsala which was delicious. Chicken was tender and juicy with just the right amount of sauce. Veggies were perfect. My wife had the gourmet Mac and cheese which has delicious BBQ meat and mouth-watering blend of cheese and pasta. The one detraction was a slight odor of mildewed plastic in the backyard tent. Wife could not smell it, but it was a little off-putting to me. Cocktail was high-end. All in all a pleasant evening. We were glad they could serve us without a reservation.
