When you first walk in, the smell of delicious BBQ just hits you, and you immediately start salivating. I splurged and ordered the 2 meat combo – pulled pork and chicken salad, with a side of cole slaw and corn bread. I added a side of sweet potato fries and supported the youths at SDSU, and bought some ice cream as well.
Pulled pork was phenomenal, with and without the BBQ sauce. Chicken salad was pretty stellar, I personally, like smaller pieces of chicken, but nonetheless, it was still delicious. Coleslaw was perfectly tangy. The cornbread was a little dry, but the butter and honey they provided made up for that. The sweet potato fries were a hit, too. Perfectly fried and seasoned nicely. The ice cream was nice and creamy and the best way to end this feast.

Average mid tier bbq, very dry ribs. If I coulda had beer with my lunch I could have looked past the dryness. Pretty expensive and small portions, got beans as both sides and still wasn’t enough. Prolly a Kamala voter with these portions. Lots of Prius’ in parking lot not enough truck.

Payton did an excellent job taking care of us. I had the brisket without the bun, out was great. The fresh cut fries were really good as well. My wife had the pulled pork sandwich with BBQ spaghetti which was a first for us. The mix of marinara and BBQ sauce along with the pulled pork was a great flavor together.

Average BBQ place. Served as sandwiches, not just meats, which is in small text, so be warned. I just wanted meat and sides. Maybe a better clarification on the menu would be useful.
Small portions for the cost, both sides and meat. Meat was ok but all shredded for sandwich. Couldn’t get a beer either as servers couldn’t serve one. Tortilla soup was good but see picture, not even half way full bowl, apparently to get a full bowl it counts as 2 sides. Hear something new every day.
Loved the mustard bbq sauce though. Definitely try if you come here, Smell inside was great.

Food was terrible! The Mac and cheese and hash brown potatoes were the worst we have had. They were so orange that it looked like fake cheese, it went in the garbage immediately! Ribs were okay, not the best, but edible, wings were dry and the blue cheese it came with was also the worst I have ever had . It was a complete waste of money and overpriced! However our service was good.

Passing through Brooking and Came to Backyard BBQ for lunch with a coworker and it wasn’t great and it wasn’t bad, I had the two meat, brisket and chicken with French fries. I would have preferred my brisket sliced but he didn’t give the option and it didn’t specify that I was getting two sandwich’s (didn’t care for the bread.

Backyard BBQ? WHAT a joke. As I walked in, I was greeted with a friendly hello, but I was soon to be disappointed by their rude, second-class service. I watched as he dumped 10 wings from the freezer into some oil. Later, I picked up my food from the front, only to be even more disappointed as I saw the droopy fries and dry wings(a lil stingy on the sauce).Not to mention, shortly after I picked up my food from the front, they hand delivered someone else’s food to the table beside me. The food should have tasted better for how hungry I was and how expensive it was. I am extremely unhappy with the rude service and overall experience, but sadly, I don’t think they will improve and, therefore, won’t be back.
