I recently enjoyed a visit to Backyard Barbecue and tried their vinegar-based barbecue sauce. While the overall experience earned a solid 4 stars out of 5, there were a few highlights and areas for improvement. The pork shoulder had a pleasant touch, though slightly more tenderness would have been ideal.

First time in the area, and we’re so glad we stumbled in; we were drawn by the smoke! The bbq meats (shoulder, chop, ribs, and loin) were juicy, well seasoned, and delicious. We had four sides, including baked beans, green beans , potato salad, and vinegar slaw; again, all seasoned well and delicious. We were advised by the long line of customers that we couldn’t leave without fried pie and sweet tea. I’m so glad we listened to them! The ladies working were all helpful with recommendations and very friendly. Finally, the hot bbq sauce was HOT to my husband’s delight… he’s still trying to figure out what the secret recipe is!

Excellent. Everything is excellent. My favorite BBQ place. Best I have ever had. Love this place and the owner and employees are wonderful and friendly. Very polite and always willing to help you. I recommend this place to the whole world .
