BackStage Lounge (BSL), your neighborhood speakeasy, is a modern take on the traditional concept with an intimate, romantically elevated vibe. The entrance is around the backside of SouthBound and down the hall of Modern Classics Grooming Lounge. Once inside, there is a mural-lined hallway leading to a red-curtain enclosed phone booth. BSL honors legendary Charlotte music venues that have unfortunately closed, like Amos’ Southend and Double Door Inn. There are a few other unique surprises inside the speakeasy for discovery in hopes regular guests feel like they are in-the-know members of an exclusive club. Love the pop ups they do here. The cupid one at valentines day was the best. Most recently went for Christmas in July. Drink options are always on theme. There was only one tequila option at the Christmas in July, but the bartender made us something off menu. Always cute and fun time.

Friend and I went during their Christmas in July and had so much fun! The bartender was so nice and made me a specialty drink since the menu did not have a whiskey/bourbon option, and they needed to put it on the menu… really good. Everything was xmas themed (music,decor,drinks,etc) such an amazing time!

We were excited to come to Christmas in July to celebrate my friends birthday. Cute place, drinks were good. Horrible customer service, in-fact their customer service was non-existent. Bartender was completely indifferent and unfriendly. We gave him the benefit of the doubt because he seemed busy but even when it slowed down, he still could have cared less. Looks like they had a skeleton crew but regardless, his energy was horrible. I hope management steps this place up.

Loved the Miracle holiday bar in Charlotte NC at the Backstage Lounge! Really friendly and efficient staff and fun drinks and snacks!! The ambiance was super fun and festive too! Will def go back again before the New Year!

It was a really cool place. Drinks and food were great. Christmas in July theme was really cool. However, the DJ made it very difficult to hold a conversation, and the snow machine was extremely annoying. But all things aside, solid 4 stars.

I’m really surprised that no one else received the lack of service my friends and I had last week when we attended this establishment. I do not leave a lot of reviews and most of the time I only do so if they are positive, but this was bad enough to warrant one. First of all, kudos to the mind behind the decor and the eventing aspect of how it was set up. It was exciting to walk in and see the atmosphere and appreciate the effort somebody really put into that to make it look really special. Unfortunately, the service we received, or didn’t receive, really made this whole experience very unfortunate. There were only 2 bartenders but it wasn’t too busy (small space) and though they made eye contact with us, never came to say hello or even gave us a thumbs up to show acknowledgement. We had to go to the bar and ask how it worked…if we ordered from the bar, or wait or what have you. “I’ll be there in a sec”….was his response. When he approached the table, it was….
