My hubby has been coming to Back 40 since he was a kid in the 80’s. We loved bringing our kids here and now we still come as empty nesters. The buffet is delicious and clean and the service is wonderful. The fried chicken is some of the best we’ve had and the prime rib is so good. We look forward to bringing our future grandkids to Back 40!

Visiting my son in college and we stumbled across this place on the way home! Loved the atmosphere and the selection of very good, simple foods! Everything I tried was delicious. Really liked the vegetable soup and the pulled pork was very tasty. The desserts were wonderful. The staff was exceptionally friendly and attentive!

They do have outdoor seating where well behaved dogs on leash are welcome. Dining outside you will need to pay for your meal before going to the buffet. I believe that if your well trained dog behaves as well as a service dog, you could bring him in and no one would complain. This was a very friendly place to dine. We did not order Crab or Prime Rib. We ate at the buffet. The selection is limited but the food was delicious and well prepared. Our server Chelsea enjoyed meeting Jasper The Adventure dog and even followed him on his facebook page before we left.

So cool. Great food. Not bad for a full buffet. Healing food. Homemade house dressing is incredible as well as the rum or butter sauce for your pecan pie. Incredible surroundings. Even have a American Revolutionary Bunker Hill an Appeal to Heaven Flag! Fabulous.

I cannot leave more than 3 stars simply because most of the meats on the buffet were very over cooked and dry. The salad bar and the house made dressings were delicious. The vegetables on the buffet were really good but the only meat I was able to eat was the prime rib, and that was underwhelming. The staff, however were very courteous and friendly. I would not pay $19.95 for this buffet again.

We went on Friday night all you can eat snow crab leg night. They definitely do not cheat on the size of those crab legs! Fresh and delicious! It comes with an all you can eat smorgasbord of so many delicious foods.

The meat lady’s personality was about as dry as a balls in the sand. Selection was minimal but decent. Small meat portions so you have to make several trips. June 9th here we are again… the meat lady must have had her Hot Totti before her shift she was singing “run girl get out of my life” and gave me juicy slices of roasted beast. Also the maintenance man needs to be fired. Can’t see shizzle in this hizzle. Instead of replacing bulbs they hang another fixture. SMH!
