Avani’s in Pekin is a little farther for me to drive then avanni’s in East Peoria but I have found it is worth it, I seem to have a lot of bad luck in East Peoria at ordering and getting my order correct, and the quality of food in the takeout department. So I give five stars to avani’s in Pekin

I had come here on the suggestion from some friends and it did not disappoint. The parking is free and ample and the restaurant is located in a convenient part of town. I got inside and was immediately seated. The folks working were all friendly and service was excellent. The custom pasta dish I ordered was perfectly made as how I wanted it and it tasted amazing. Oh, and the bread they have is fantastic. I think I’d stop by just to get a few loaves of them.

Recently, our family has eaten at Avanti’s because our grandkids enjoy it. I realize we were a group of 5 one time and 7 the next, we had to wait 15 minutes for a tables when the restaurant was not busy, and it took 1.5 hours to order and get our food. While we waited, we observes several nearby tables be seated, order, receive their food, eat , and leave before we received our orders. We had the same server both times, so that may have been the problem.

Got the “italian beef” sandwich. It was just 3 slices of deli roast beef and cheese on the sandwich. Nothing italian about that…..when i see italian beef on the menu i think, slow cooked and well seasoned beef and pepporcini peppers. Very disappointed.
