I used breakfast vouchers from the hotel around 50% of my 2 week stay. The options on the voucher were quite limited but the food was okay. I didn’t like the plastic plates and cutlery (however I expect this is due to the nature of being poolside). Without a voucher I would say it is a bit expensive compared to other breakfast options on I-drive such as Dennys or IHOP. The place was well kept and the staff were always nice.

We ordered a pizza and chai tea the first issue was the server didn’t know what chai tea was, the second issue was the prices on their menus were off when we asked about it the server said the owner knew but didn’t bother to fix it. When I tried to pay it auto tipped when I selected no tip. The only redeeming quality of our visit was the cheese on the pizza was awesome.

One night I had the mushroom Swiss burger which was good, then I decided to try the mahi tacos the next night…absolutely disgusting! It was incredibly fishy and salty tasting, very dry too. The cook also is who took my order and the whole time he was taking my order he was on his cell phone talking in Spanish to someone on speaker..it was incredibly rude! (The review would have been a 4 if I had the experience I had the first night)

The food was great. Went to visit my sister and her husband, who frequent this hotel. Prices were a little high, but so is everything else in the world today.

On the fence about hotel and mixed, mostly negative, feelings about the cafe.
Our first morning the staff was fantastic; the woman working the counter (Oct 1) was affable, approachable and kind. Unfortunately, the second morning (Oct 2), the ‘machismo’ man at the counter (who appeared to be some kind of manager) was extremely rude, impolite and dismissive. Due to this experience (and grimy corners of rooms) I will NOT EVER be checking into this hotel.
The overall accessibility, breakfast quality and price is 4/5, BUT cleanliness and staff is about 1/5 (except for the woman working the cafe counter on Oct 1 and service people). The men we’ve encountered (also working kitchen at cafe) were ill-mannered and uncourteous, creating the subsequent poor customer experience and unpleasant interactions; luckily my partner wasn’t present for this interaction because she would’ve lost her lid.
I have no qualms about poor English speaking or impoliteness per-se, BUT the Cafe manager-man’s attitude, in particular, was beyond culture and comprehension–truly an inappropriate personality to be working in the service industry. I would not recommend this hotel to friends or family, unless one is on a tight budget and need to be near Universal AND downtown Orlando.
tldr; pay the extra $40 and book next door. This is objectively a 2/5 hotel.
p.s. encountered small cockroach on first night, nearly checked-out then, but it was too late and inconvenient in the evening to do so. We picked this hotel because it was pet-free (which is needed due to our severe allergies) and affordable, but will find another pet-free hotel in the future.

Jackie was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING ! I’ve been serving almost my whole life and I’ve never had this much comfort with a bartender. Unfortunate that I’m not from here and have to fly back home tomorrow. But if you need somewhere to drink… come here and ask for Jackie.

Not sure why the other review said reasonable prices for, they charge 7 dollars for a breakfast sandwich and 3 dollars for a banana. Want a 12oz bottle of Tropicana lemonade? $3.50. $3 for a nesquik. Paid 45ish dollars for 3 sandwiches, 2 bananas and 4 drinks. Save yourself the time and money Ihop will charge you less and give you far better food.
