First time visiting St. Louis! It was okay. Maybe I wasn’t there at a good time or something. The bartender basically ignored me the first almost 10 minutes I was there, and there was only like 5 whole people in the building. At least the drink was poured a little heavy, but otherwise I felt like I was intruding on a private club or party or something. Didn’t bother trying the food. The place was recommended to me by the staff at the Black History Museum so I figured it was probably a nice spot. Who knows when I’ll be back that far north/midwest again though ♂️ First impressions only happen once anyway. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good hole in the wall, but when money walks in the door, you should at least speak ️

Wow! The Service there is great , lively,and comfort ….reminds me of Cheer’s…the Food is outstanding….As Fellow Mississippian…I just don’t go everywhere to eat and mingle but this Place is a excellent choice…their Turkey Chops are very Delicious and Crispy … Atmosphere is A-1 ⚖️⚡

Where do I start? From the front door; the staff acted like we we old friends from the start. We had been recommended by my cousin, Carolyn Tidwell who lives in St Louis. The staff made sure we had everything we needed. None of the 9 women had a complaint. Our bus was supposed to take us to two more spots but we missed our second stop because we couldn’t leave Gene’s! If we did not have tickets for our third stop, I believe we would have never left! Gene’s Bar and Grill is our destination every time we plan a trip to STL. Thank you Cheri for showing us a great time and I hope to see you soon.

This was my first and last time going. The outdoor area was set up nice but overall the experience was lower tier. It was hot indoor and outdoors. The music was subpar and trashy. The drinks were mid level and they don’t serve top shelf. They do have Hennessy, Don Julio, 1738 if you’re into those types of drinks. I did not order food. Wasn’t in the mood for fish and chicken plates…. For it to be an older club it was giving OZ night club

Genes is the best bar I’ve ever been to everybody is so amazing ! The owners are great even bettle juice made me feel like a priority .. they have a guy with the best clothing walking through #Mainline the material is everything the bartenders are awesome you’ll definitely love it here .. it’s 12am I don’t wanna go home.. thanks genes for the best time !

Always a Crowd. Too their own but will stare at you. You may find one guy to buy you a drink but usually not. Very social place. Lively music. The owner is amazing as well as the bar girls. Pool table and kitchen in the back. The smallest wings and the winds are Chewy. Great hang out if you bring your friends, otherwise you’ll be looking at the people. Drinking alone.

The pork/turkey chop sandwich are a staple here. The bartenders are always on point. You gotta get the right setup. Mostly elderly folks during the day it gets hood after 6pm.
