Surfside Beach Bar is a cool experience. I went with friends on a day when it was raining, so the bar was on the empty side. The bar tender greeted us and was attentive and got us our orders in a timely fashion. We all got the buckets which were very cool and tasted great. There was seating around the bar itself, as well as standing tables and tables you could sit at. It seemed like they also had cabanas and lounge chairs, but they were sectioned off due to the rain. There was also a volleyball court off to the side of the bar. Overall it was a good experience and I hope to go back again!
Note: The bar is ONLY accessible from the beach, so you’d likely need to pay for a beach tag to get to the bar.

Went on a rainy/not busy day. The service was good and the bartenders were quick with drinks. The other customers were nice and talkative, everyone seemed to be having a good time despite the rain. They have a nice volleyball area and some tables to sit at. Seating does seems like it would be hard to find on a busier day. Bathrooms couldn’t be found so not sure if there were any. Drinks were slightly a move average in price but were still decent. Buckets are the best bang for your buck

Bar on the beach. Perfect atmosphere. We went on a busy day and the service was too slow. Good drink options. Entire setup is nice, service should be faster and better.

Food and drinks were fine, but bartender gave me one of the worst experiences I have ever had. Came with a friend who looks young, she was repeatedly berated by bouncers and staff, and despite her ID being legitimate, they decided to completely ignore her for some reason. Horrible attitude from all involved. Go somewhere else

Terrible service absolutely, bartender asked me for my drink order twice and before I could reply, immediately walks away to service someone else. Told another bartender what happened and her lack of empathy was ridiculous. I can see why this place doesn’t have 5 stars and many critical ratings…..drinks were acceptable though, left a tip despite this

Absolutely terrible service. Gabriel is the worst server I have ever had in my life. Service is a joke, I had 3 drinks and bought 8 waters and they told me I needed to buy food before being served again. I will never give this place my business again. I’ve been coming to avenue for years and I will never in my life step foot here again. Gabriel is the exact reason for the loss of business. And personally I don’t think bar tenders should be drinking while working and taking shots with customers. Maybe that’s why he was making irrational decisions.

Great music and atmosphere but service needs serious improvements.
We came for a good time but the service experience was disappointing and uncomfortable.
We ordered two cocktails from someone behind the bar. After waiting 15 minutes with no update, we politely asked an older staff member—possibly the manager—for help. His response: “He’s not the bartender,” and he walked away, continuing to serve others without offering any assistance or even an apology. His attitude was unnecessarily dismissive.
In the meantime, he served over 10 people who arrived after us, ignoring us even when we tried to get his attention. We tolerated this for 30 minutes before he finally came over to ask what we wanted to drink—as if nothing had happened.
The only positive part of the experience was a younger, blonde barback who kindly explained he wasn’t the bartender but helped direct us to the right person. That’s the kind of professionalism and care that hospitality should be about.
Sadly, when we tried to thank this barback later for his professionalism, the older bartender made a sharp, dismissive gesture toward him, as if to silence him, and then followed up with a patronizing “What were you talking about?”
This behavior is unacceptable in a place that clearly invests in great music and ambiance. Guests come not just for drinks but for the full experience. A great venue deserves staff and leadership who understand that hospitality is about making people feel welcome, not dismissed.
We can tolerate more than you think including slow service or even mediocre drinks but not a lack of basic respect and human decency.

Jenny the bartender was great! I ordered the burger and my friend got the turkey sandwich, both delicious. Food and drinks came out fast / normal amount of time. Run bucket was so good. No complaints at all. There was live music that started at 2pm they were awesome.

Me and my friend decided to go here for a drink and to grab something to eat. Both of us are 22 years old, but look significantly younger. From the second we walked into the bar we were given a hard time. The male bartender gave both of us a dirty look while asking for our ids before we even sat down. fine. We then go to order a drink, takes at least 10 minutes while they are serving every other person that comes to the bar, not to mention there are not many people there. We were sitting right in front of the computer and they were blatantly ignoring us to our faces. My friend asks for a drink, as I ordered first and they did not have one ingredient for the drink, therefore refusing to make it. I have never been to a bar that has done that, any other place has offered a sub for the ingredient or has offered to make something similar to the persons interest. Then, we were not given a food menu, we did not even know food was available until the older men in their 40s got their food. We then asked three different servers over the course of 30 minutes to take our food order when they had a chance. A few minutes later one of the bartenders we asked comes up to us and goes “do you girls have a tab open or are you ready to go?” right after we asked not one but three people for a food menu? The drinks were good, but not worth the disturbing service. I have never been somewhere with such disrespect for their customers.

bad service. outside bartender on 9/6 @ 1:30 pm thought my id was fake and chose to just ignore my friend and i instead of getting a manager or someone else to check. had a nasty attitude so we left after finishing our one drink. won’t be coming back
