We started with Bruschetta & limencello Strawberry mixed drinks that were better than any other we’ve had in town. We were given fresh dinner rolls with our salads while the main course was prepared.. I had crusted chicken with penne and my man had salmon w/sweet potato- both were cooked to perfection. Eventhough I was full, we shared caramel cheesecake & an amaretto dessert that had just enough sweetness. The live pianist was a pleasure to listen to as well. We will be back!

Tortilla chips in nachos were stale. Server did take them off the bill. Overall food was just mediocre. I was wondering why the parking lot was virtually empty every time we went by. Now I know. Sadly, I really wanted this place to thrive. Unless they make changes, they won’t.

Update! As you can all see I was trying to extend and Olive Branch and offered to give the servers a free chance to learn a few tricks. I thought I was being thoughtful trying to help a locally owned business. Obviously the owner didn’t feel the same. His attitude towards customers and constructive criticism reflects in his reviews. It’s like one of those owners on a Gordon Ramsey show. Its a shame really because it used to be a welcoming restaurant, with owners who were nice to people. I wish you all the luck but I don’t see this restaurant making it another 3 years.

Started with amazing Jalapeño poppers as an appetizer! They’re difficult to find anywhere, so if they’re on the menu I’m ordering! The dipping sauce was very different & paired well with the Jalapeño poppers. For an entree, I ordered the pan seared scallops w zucchini & salad. The salad is not a salad. Just some iceberg lettuce a tomato & two strips of mozo w balsamic drizzled… wasn’t great. The zucchini squash & onion was actually pretty great as it’s difficult to mess up veggies. To the scallops… the first one didn’t taste right, but ignored it bc I was hungry. The second one tasted just as off. The third one, an overwhelming feeling of nausea fell over me. I got up & ran to the bathroom. We got our check & left.

First time I’ve been there since they changed hands I loved it before and I still love it The staff is really accommodating some of them have worked for the previous owner. We had a Reuben and a Reuben hamburger. Both were great and I had a side of peel-n-eat shrimp.

What a great place. New management and a new menu and we were very impressed. We always sit on the patio (alone) no idea why more people don’t enjoy this lovely space. The food was delicious. Excellent quesadilla with lots of chicken and really yummy Swedish meatballs. Staff are attentive and very pleasant! Highly recommend!!

I can understand that with the impact of Covid it is hard to run a restaurant, as you can see from a few of the reviews, but don’t give up on this restaurant. We enjoyed our recent visit with good service and food. Go early on a weekday. When they aren’t overwhelmed.

Let me start by saying I am writing this review on my husband’s page. We have been to Austins in the past and we truly we not impressed with anything long waits bad staff and also not impressed with the sharp tounge responses on the reviews left by the restaurant.

I went in for dinner while in town visiting my parents at the new senior living community off of Main St. They suggested I grab a sandwich here. I sat at the bar and got a beer, a hot beef sandwich, and fries. The bartender was attentive, and it was a standard restaurant bar atmosphere. That is where the good stuff stops. My beer was flat, my food was cold – fries and a sandwich – the beef was way tough and overcooked (strange since it was cold to the touch). I did not send anything back because I read the reviews and didn’t want to get into a fight with the manager/owner. I paid my bill with the SERVICE CHARGE FOR USING A CREDIT CARD and left quietly. But will make sure I mention this experience to anyone asking about Austin’s Olde World Restaurant.
