Nice place to eat and the house setting is kinda cool. My seafood fettuccine was a good sized portion and they didn’t skimp on the shrimp. The baton rouge sauce was nice and my crab dip appetizer was a little expensive but the portion made up for it.

I called ahead to make sure I didn’t need to make a reservation, it looked fancy and said reservations only, so when I called, they said they were filling fast but could seat us (4) if we hurried. I waited for 30 minutes for someone to decide to seat us and they acted as if it was a burden, but they definitely weren’t full and never filled up. All those bad reviews about poor service, long wait times and bad food? They’re true. I should’ve realized the half hour wait to be seated would be foreshadowing of a 2+ hour wait for food! I’m an out of stater with a dairy allergy and asked for no cheese on my salad, the waitress said it was possible to have it made without cheese. I also asked for the steak to be well done… When the food arrived, the waitress stated, “sorry the wait was so long, the chef didn’t listen and I figured you wanted your food so I didn’t take it back.” My son got a mushroom Swiss burger that was just a plain cheeseburger, my salad was raw and full of cheese and all our food was ice cold. The kid who ordered linguini was the only one with it made right but still cold. The steak was wet and watery, drink cups were gross and unclean. Not the best or friendliest place in Rawlings for sure. Even the staff talked about walking out and no one lasting longer than a month.

Had to wait briefly, but they got a seated in a little alcove all to ourselves. Was a romantic setting actually. This old Victorian house is beautiful & you can tell they have totally redone the restaurant part. Really enjoyed it. Our server Terry is also new to Rawlins & he was friendly, knowledgeable & on point. Our food was wonderful. My husband had a fresh crisp looking house salad & the halibut. I had a cup of clam chowder and the spinach three cheese ravioli with a Baton Rouge sauce. Everything was delicious. We also each had a couple of glasses of wine with our water to drink. I highly recommend this place. Ask for Terry!! He is awesome!!

Just driving through the area and felt like eating steak so dropped in. Atmosphere, food, and service is first class. I had the Ceasar salad, my son had clam chowder, which he loved and said it was the best be ever had. I had the 10 oz filet with garlic mashed potatoes, my son had the beef medallions with garlic mashed potatoes (bonus, he also got asparagus). The char on the steak and medallions was perfect and they were cooked to perfection, I’ve never had better. The red wine demiglaze with the beef medallions was also incredibly delicious. If you ever find yourself near Rawlins, do your taste buds a favor and treat yourself to the Aspen House. The price is well worth it-the service is fast, the people are very friendly, and the food is exquisite. It’s the best steak we ever had in Wyoming!

Quaint and cozy place. This restaurant is located in a historic old house which made the atmosphere very quiet and comfortable. The food was top notch! We started with wine and the spinach artichoke dip. I had the baked salmon with a delicious lemon butter cream sauce and my husband had the cheese ravioli. Both dishes were excellent!

My daughter and I waited twenty minutes for menus, got them and immediately ordered. I got a salad and a beer, my daughter got a couple of soft drink refills. After an hour we left without even seeing the bread basket we ordered. The table next to us also left after an hour wait after ordering. There was one waiter and someone who showed up sporadically to talk with friends/acquaintances at tables. Who knows how good the food is, it took forever and we never found out.

I’ve eaten here many times and the quality has gone down over time significantly. The last time, and it will be the last time unless something changes, we had three orders of seafood Alfredo that tasted like rotten cream had been used, we notified the waitress, she took the plates and then brought back the exact same plates with more cheese to cover up the taste but it did not work! After the waitress brought the food back, no one ever came back to check on us or ask how it tasted now, and I even had to refill our waters! When I tried to talk to the owner/cook she would not come out of the kitchen, and would not take off the price of the three meals that did not get eaten. And luckily for the wait staff we had a party of 8 so they got paid the 20% for being lazy! But our total bill was almost $500 and I couldn’t even get them to help or talk to me! I’ll choose McDonald’s over Aspen house now!

Stopped in Rawlins driving south to Colorado. The steaks did not disappoint! We had the blackened New York strip and medallions. The red wine sauce was absolutely delicious. The rosemary potatoes were unimpressive with no noticeable rosemary, under seasoned, and no crisp. Cheesecake was fantastic! Our service was great. Would recommend this for a nice dinner.
