Asaki is a pioneering Japanese restaurant that has been in business since December 2007. Asaki will bring you all the tastes of Japan. The seafood is bought at sea ports where they sell the freshest seafood. The owner of Asaki travels to the ports regularly to get the day’s catch. This ensures that you get the best quality food available. We always aim to please, so if you want your food prepared a special way just let your waitress know. Also, the manager is always present to assist you.

Arrived and we were greeted and seated immediately. Admittedly we am not well versed in Japanese food. We asked our waiter for extra time to look over the menu. We asked several questions and our waiter was somewhat helpful. I started with a Sushi Appetizer which was served with 5 pieces of sushi and was very tasty. My wife, had a chicken hibachi diner which was served hot and I ordered the chicken teriyaki. We did venture into the Rolls and other items on the menu but look forward to trying other items.

We arrived at Asaki around 6:30 p.m. and were seated immediately. The restaurant was at about 70% capacity, but we were waited upon quickly and our food came out in about 15 minutes.

First time customer, won’t be returning. We are regulars at Shanghai in Dallas but I wanted teriyaki tofu so we tried Asaki. We spent $48 on a kids shrimp hibachi, teriyaki tofu, a side of hibachi vegetables and an order of vegetables with udon noodles. The kids shrimp hibachi didn’t come with the noodles we ordered, the cucumber on top of the salad was cut in a way that only makes me think it shouldn’t have been served. The tofu was breaded but soggy and half of the entire container was onions. The side of vegetables and the vegetables with noodles were also FILLED with onions. I love onions. But tonight we spent $48 on a meal that was 60% onions. Not cool. Shanghai all the way.

Food is good a nice variety esp if you like spicy sushi. I’m not a huge fan wish there were more non spicy options but they do accommodate. Service is fast and restaurant is clean.

The kitchen is downright awful. Nice place, nice waiters, but the food that comes out of the back is stomach churning. It tastes like most of it was frozen and put on heaters. Sushi was fantastic, but chicken, noodle, and fried dishes are just . Don’t say more than one dish is bad and you won’t get a refund on any of them even if you took one bite.

I haven’t had the chance to try their hibachi, but the sushi is great. The restaurant itself has a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere. The only thing keeping me from giving five stars is that the service seems a bit disorganized when they’re busy. I recently visited with friends on a Saturday night when the restaurant was at its busiest and no one seemed to know how to manage the customers with a reservation for hibachi and the customers waiting to be seated in the dining area, so they just ignored everyone for about ten minutes. Fortunately, our patience paid off because we had a great meal.

I was just at the restaurant and had to wait much longer then usual. Place was busy. Wait staff only charged for drinks. I made it right and paid full price for meals and will return again. Thank you very much.
