I am a life long fan of traditional Korean food and I have to say that Arirang is by far my favorite Korean restaurant in Ann Arbor. The owners and wait staff are very warm and welcoming, giving you a feel of home dining. I recommend the dolsot bibimbap and mandu (dumplings) as they are homemade and very fresh. If you are in the Ann Arbor area and are craving Korean food, I highly recommend Arirang.

Such a lovely, welcoming place. We were welcomed right away and seated quickly. Our waitress was fabulous. The menu reflected a great array of dishes. I sometimes struggle going to eat someplace with authentic dishes as I often have to ask for them to accommodate numerous dietary restrictions. They were wonderful in listening and removing ingredients I couldn’t have. I was left with a flavorful and fresh bowl that I enjoyed. My husband enjoyed kimchi. We also savored dumplings that we were told are made fresh and homemade. It was a great experience, and fresh, flavorful food.

Incredible food here. Service is great too. I highly recommend this place. It’s a small crew so the wait time can be long but it’s definitely worth it.

Came in to get dinner at about 10 minutes to 5pm. There was only one other table dining at the time. I ordered the “summer special” bibimnaengmyun. 35 long minutes later I was brought a bowl of buckwheat noodles soaking in liquid (either water or mul broth) topped with a boiled egg, half a julienned cucumber, and a raw scoop of gochujang. Already frustrated with how long I had to wait considering how empty the place was, I asked the server if she had brought me the wrong naengmyun. An older lady came out from the kitchen and told me it was correct and when I said that typically there is no broth in bibimnaengmyun she told me to just “try it”. Knowing that mul broth is often made with beef stock, I preferred the veggie dish I ordered but was told once again that the order was correct. Bibimnaengmyun is my favorite dish and I’ve had it many times and in many places (including Seoul). Any Korean chef worth their salt would have been appalled at the trash I had been served. I offered to pay for the side dishes I ate but refused to eat the dish. They were still fine charging me $16 for it. If they could mess up a basic dish like this, they don’t have a basic understanding of Korean food.

As others have said, food took a little more time than your average wait, but it was so worth it! Everything came out HOT, so it must have been just made. The spicy rice cakes were exactly as I hoped and I had a stir fry with kimchi, pork belly and green onions that was a 11/10. Spicy, but with their tangy kimchi and savory meat. I will 100% be going back again.

The food was good. We didn’t have to wait long to be seated even though they were busy. I noticed several people came in to pick up an order. I do have one drawback. I know what I left for a tip and that was changed. The charge on my bank didn’t reflect the tip that I left. So I will never go back to this establishment due to that. If you visit here you may want to pay with cash.

Ordered Galbi Jim and after a very long wait it came out dry. A shame because it actually had good flavor. I brought it to the server’s attention and she told me nothing could be done about it and offered me a complimentary drink that I declined.

Been there for both dine in and takeouts. Takeouts are well packaged and come with decent sides (including homemade kimchi!)

Like all restaurants in this post lockdown world, the service was a bit slow (signs on the windows: “Hiring all positions “). But it was the extra mile the staff went through to add free appetizers to our table to make the wait seem shorter.

Ordered a seafood pancake, tofu seafood soup and bibimbap and the cold noodles. Pancake was crunchy and flavorful not too greasy. Bibimbap has a lot of toppings and also good. And my favorite soup I always get at the food court at hmart tastes even better than what I get at h mart food court. I didn’t taste the cold noodles but my husband said it has no meat but that’s supposedly something light for hot summer. Only complaint is how long it took but then they don’t have a lot of ppl working.
