3 people and the bill was $75 including tip. My attached picture definitely does not look like it belongs as part of a $75 meal. Plain and simple you’ve fallen to the bottom of the list of places I will choose to spend my money in the future.

As other reviews have mentioned there were kitchen issues on the Sunday night at 6pm when we arrived. There were plenty of servers and open tables, but yet we had to wait in the tiny host area with 6 other people for 10 minutes to get seated (this gave the kitchen time to “catch up”??).

Our server was great, not a single complaint about her. When I saw door dash drivers waiting 10-15 minutes for their carry-outs I knew there were issues and we were in for a wait.

My country fried steak didn’t look appetizing at all but tasted decent (hash browns were excellent). The burger was excellent but very stingy on the side of fries. The honey pepper Mac & cheese noodles weren’t even room temperature. Come on, how difficult is it to make par-cooked noodles?

The place wasn’t busy yet the kitchen was backed up. Never once saw a manager walking through the restaurant checking on tables. Definitely wasn’t worth $75 for 3 of us.

Jameson was our bartender – great dude made our whole night. We had the seasonal margaritas it was absolutely delectable.He said it was his second night but he was very personable and gave good advice on the menu and was also kinda cute. Octavia was our host – she was also very cool and made us feel warm and welcome! She made me feel right at home the second I stepped in the door. Thank god for these two they made my apple bees experience a biblical adventure. God I love this country so much.

We were told wait time was 30 min after 1 pm. We were told there were issues in the kitchen. Over 50% of the tables were empty. 45 minutes later we sat down and it took at least 20 minutes to get drinks. It took an hour to get food. Our waitress was doing good considering people were not nice. She was nice to us but obviously in overload. We never once saw a manager. With everything going wrong and long wait time a manager should be talking to customers and apologizing for the wait time. Once my husband got his one pancake eggs hash browns and sausage it was a small meal for 13.99. We will not be back for along time. Kudos to our waitress SAM for keeping a smile on her face and being courteous. We also had people waiting in line behind us that were seated and got food before us. Someone replied to my review a generic response given to everyone with a link to copy and paste and answer more questions. The link wants you to create a log in. Is this their way of avoiding dealing with a bad review so people wont complain more? Come on Applebees

Went for my wife birthday, we went at 7:30 on a Tuesday. The place had about 10 people in it. We were seated at a high top booth, about 1/2 the restaurant had the chairs stacked on the tables, including in the area we were seated, and someone was sweeping the floor behind us while someone else mopped the restaurant. It seemed very much like we were walking in on closing time cleaning duties, as it felt strange. The table we were seated at was incredibly wobbly, causing water to spill from our cups when full, and the chairs were also wobbly. The servers name was David, he was very professional, and followed all best practices. We both ordered the shrimp and steak, my wife substituted the broccoli for Mac and cheese.
The food came out quickly, steak was cooked perfectly and was very good, the broccoli was also delicious.
The potatoes were room temperature, they tasted good but seemingly had not been warmed up in any way.

Overall good experience aside from a few issues.

I’ve been eager to experience this since the merger with Ihop. There was two of us. The establishment was moderately crowded, yet we were promptly seated. Our server was highly efficient. The food preparation took a considerable amount of time, just over a half an hour. I acknowledge the possibility of being busy, however, in my view, you should have sufficient chefs to cater to the demand. The culinary offerings were quite satisfactory. I opted for an omelet, which was adequately sized, and the pancakes were exceptionally good. The accompanying 8-year-old enjoyed her pancakes with eggs. Overall, the experience was not subpar.

I recently went to Applebee’s. I have not been here in a while. We were immediately seated and greeted upon entering the restaurant. The food was reasonably priced and in line with their competitors’ prices. Our waiter, Caesar, was excellent, kept our drinks full, and gave us updates on the time estimate of our food. He was very informative on the menu and entrees. He gave us his recommendations when asked and was very kind and friendly. The food was delicious and we really loved the breadsticks. We ordered sandwiches, onion rings, and breadsticks. My only complaint is that at 4 pm, the restaurant was out of mayonnaise. I asked for a side of mayo, but was informed they were out. I saw an adjacent table order mozzarella sticks that looked amazing. We chose between breadsticks and mozzarella sticks, which were terrific, but we wished we had tried the cheese sticks. We had a good time and enjoyed watching sports on the big screens while not talking to each other.

This is my 2nd time visiting Ihop/Applebees in Onalaska since the reopening. Both visits I was told the kitchen is backed up so we couldn’t be sat. On this occasion I was sat at 11:07am, order placed at 11:20am and food arrived (breakfast) at 12:20pm. Both my order and the person I was with received our food- incorrectly served compared to what was ordered. The food was cold.
I will likely not go back and as a customer that is my choice. I would rather support a restaurant and their employees that knows how to run a kitchen and front of house. Absolutely no one sitting near me ( other customers) had a positive experience. The Door Dash people that came to pick up orders also were waiting an hour for food they were needing to deliver. This business needs to just close the doors now, figure out their front and back of house and reopen when they have their crap together. Good luck to anyone that decides to go, be prepared to wait a long time and get mediocre at best food.

Two-Hour Operational Failure: Extreme Wait, Poor Food Quality, and Missing Items

My party and I visited the dual-branded Applebee’s/IHOP in Onalaska today, Saturday, November 22, 2025. We arrived around 12:30 PM and left at 2:27 PM, resulting in an unprecedented total dining duration of nearly two hours (1 hour and 57 minutes). We were initially quoted a 20-minute wait for a table.
The dining experience was an unprecedented failure, marked by extreme delays and a complete breakdown in service and food quality.
Facility and Staff Atmosphere Issues:
* Our table was noticeably unstable and was found “leveled” using a stack of paper napkins (as photographed).
* The bar area was littered with dirty glassware piled up, contributing to a sense of disorganization (as photographed).
* We overheard at least three different employees discussing walking out, indicating a highly concerning staff atmosphere.
Service Timeline and Issues (12:30 PM – 2:15 PM):
* 1:45 PM: We observed another party at the bar discussing a wait of over an hour with the bartender, and they subsequently left without food.
* 1:50 PM: (80 minutes in): Food still not served. FOH manager provided no proactive updates.
* 1:54 PM: A server was overheard mentioning that another one of their tables had just walked out.
* 2:06 PM: (96 minutes in): We finally had to actively flag down the Front-of-House (FOH) manager to inquire about the status.
* 2:11 PM: The FOH manager returned to state our order was “the next ticket up” and informed us that she had taken 50% off our entire bill for the wait.
* 2:15 PM: (1 hour and 45 minutes after ordering): Some of our food finally arrived, but part of a breakfast platter was missing.
Food Quality Issues (Gluten-Free Pancake Platter):
* The items for the breakfast platter arrived disjointedly. First, the pancakes were delivered so cold that the butter would not melt.
* Five minutes later, the sausage and hashbrowns arrived; the sausage was scalding hot, while the hashbrowns were lukewarm.
* When the eggs (ordered over easy) finally arrived, they were incorrectly cooked sunny side up with visibly loose whites.
Final Conclusion:
The extreme delay, consistent lack of communication, and operational failure culminated in receiving an incomplete order of poorly prepared and incorrectly temperatured food. While we acknowledge the 50% discount offered by the manager after we flagged her down, it does not mitigate the extremely poor quality of the dining experience overall. This level of disarray, service breakdown, and failure to execute basic food preparation is unacceptable. We strongly advise against dining here until major operational improvements are made.

Honestly, what did I expect from Applebee’s?

First of all, we got seated and the place reeked of weed. I don’t know if it was coming from a worker or another customer, but it smelled like that for the entire 1.5 hours we were there.

We ordered the $25 meal deal, and I genuinely don’t understand how this place can legally sell food. The pasta was cold, and the cheese on the “Alfredo” tasted like rubber mixed with nacho cheese. The entire dish honestly looked like someone pooped on it. Our appetizer came out 10 minutes after our entrées, which themselves took about 30 minutes to arrive.

They didn’t have any silverware, so we were stuck with forks onlyno knives, no napkins. The food was just god-awful, honestly. I felt like throwing up after eating it. We only went because we had a gift card.

The server was fine no complaints there but everything else was a disaster. Worst dining experience of my entire life.

Took a long time to get out food after ordering. When we asked the waitress, she blamed it on only having 2 cooks. Turns out our food was sitting waiting to be brought out. Waitress never checked to see if we needed anything. Had to ask for silverware. Food was cold. Worst dining experience we’ve had in a long time. 44$ for cold food and poor service. Wish I’d read the reviews before coming here. Will NOT be returning.
