If you know barbecue this is not the place for you. I would not recommend the ribs. The ribs had a decent smoke on them but that was it. Didn’t matter if it was an end rib or a rib from the middle of the slab, they were dry dry and hard to chew. They are pork spare ribs which should be smoked and cooked differently than pork baby back ribs and beef ribs.
I would not recommend the pear coleslaw. If you like Hawaiian Mac salad you will enjoy the coleslaw, it’s just as bland and non descriptive. The French fries were okay, they were salted well without being salty. They are a unique thin cut thick fry(think about that). The baked beans, they weren’t straight out of the can but BUSH’s baked beans are better straight out of the can. There was a tomato purée texture vibe going on.
The pulled pork was not much better than the ribs. The pulled pork had a decent smoke flavor. The meat itself was dry, but not hard and chewy dry. They offered two different bbq sauce options a sweet and a spicy.
The spicy sauce is sweet as well just has a tiny kick to it. The sweet and the spicy sauces are okay. The sauces are served in squeeze bottles on the table. I did not have the corn muffins. There were others in my party that did and some said they were very good, others said they were as good as Jiffy’s.
No one in our group ordered dessert.
A cider and a glass of wine was ordered. The wine came in a can which was a novelty to the older folks in our group.
Excuse any misspellings and grammar errors

We enjoyed two beers, a pulled pork plate and a 1/4 rack of ribs at the Apple Valley BBQ. The garlic mashed potatoes and pear coleslaw were delicious sides. We sat outside on their patio. I gave them 3 stars for the atmosphere because there wasn’t a view.

The BBQ looked kinda old. We got there before they even opened. My burger was clearly a frozen patty like you would buy from Costco. The fries were strange, like not French fries and not chips. They were very dry and over cooked. Overall, I would eat there again, and try something completely different but wouldn’t go out of my way to do it. It’s just ok.

It was my first time eating here, and I enjoyed myself. My hubby’s friend brought us here for lunch. I think he tried the food before? Anyway, service and the food were great. They had burgers, and I had a grilled cheese sandwich with the BBQ beans. Good and delicious . The decor was cool, too.

We decided to stop after seeing their ad on the back of the fruit loop brochure. Walking up, it smelled delicious. It was a big hit for the whole family. My husband and 10-year-old shared the pulled pork plate with baked Mac and cheese and cider baked beans (definitely more than enough to share). I had the pulled pork sandwich and my 12-year-old had the grilled chicken sandwich. We all loved our food and will definitely go back if we visit this area again.

Wife Got the pulled pork sandwich, pork was dry, almost no flavor. Only way to make it edible was wife had to soak it in bbq sauce. The portion didn’t even cover the bun. Had to lift bun up to even see the spoonful of pork put on sandwich. This was a $20 sandwich! Also had the green chili burger, server brought us the wrong food I lifted the bun up to see it was wrong she gave it to the right table after I touched the guys food! Burger was decent but no were near a $20 burger. 6/10.

The ribs were great. The pear coleslaw and beans were very good. Disappointed with the very, very dry pulled pork. Tri tip was dry and kept alive in bbq sauce all day. The regular and spicy sauces were very good. The young Georgian transplant hostess was awesome. Maybe the best part of our visit.

Cute small town BBQ restaurant located on the base of Mt. Hood. Located in the “fruit loop” zone with lots of fruit trees surrounding the town. We had the prime rib open face sandwich – juicy and delicious! – as well as the smoked grilled chicken and swiss sandwich – tender and flavorful! Sides included pear coleslaw, cornbread, and garlic Parmesan fries! Yummy! Finally both the huckleberry cider and lemonade were delicious and tart! The servers were extremely accommodating and friendly. Highly recommended this location!

Another amazing meal at Apple Valley BBQ! I ordered the pulled pork plate with sides of pear coleslaw & garlic parmesean fries. Every bite was delicious. Washing it down with an ice cold homemade lemonade was perfect on a humid summer day!
