I would put 10 stars if I could! Absolutely amazing. My Fiancé has been GF for years and was diagnosed Celiac recently. It’s been hard to find any places where we feel “safe” eating out. This place blew us away. The owners were so sweet and welcoming. Food was amazing and indistinguishable from non GF options. They also have a wide variety of frozen options to take home!! I am not celiac but really enjoyed their beer!! Tastes just like beer with gluten. Thanks guys!!

A decent sized restaurant serving Irish style fish and chips, seafood chowder, shrimp and other accompanying sea faire. Opened for over 20 years as of writing with original owners, Sean and Virginia.

Navigator – Fish & Chips Dinner for 2 (coleslaw included) x 1 Reg Batter, Fries for 2, Large Coleslaw (10oz) $49.00
Valuewize, this is pretty good and filling enough for 3 or 2 adults and 2 kids. Batter is a bit thick. Crunchy and dense. Fries were so so. The Onion rings were also the thick dense, crunchy batter.

House-Crafted Seafood Chowder (Bowl) (9oz) $9.00
Made of fish renderings and potatoes, it’s a good use of fish trimmings. Though the fish was a bit coarse in texture.

Breaded Shrimp with Cajun Aioli $10.00
Breaded crunchy shrimps. It’s ok.

The owners of the restaurant are very friendly, the food is awesome and the price is extremely reasonable considering that the restaurant is certified gluten free. Very kid friendly especially with a menu starting with the phrase ‘I don’t want… ‘

The non-gluten free menu almost matched the gluten free in available options.

They have many frozen take out options and can help you pack the options for long drive away. Also, they have delivery services.

In addition, they have multiple contacts in different cities if you do not living near Stratford.

Worth a drive in any weather! Sean & Virginia- you have created such a warm, welcoming, and delicious restaurant. My very first time eating in a restaurant with celiac and feeling confident and comfortable- you have absolutely nailed it! Your staff are all lovely, and we didn’t just have a delicious meal (with some take homes as well!), but we felt like family by the time we left.
We can’t wait to come back!

I had a fantastic experience at Annie’s in Stratford. We ordered the “the navigator” for two and everything was cooked perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The halibut was truly exceptional and definitely my favorite of the bunch, but the haddock, cod, and snapper were also delicious and well-prepared. The onion rings, fries, and coleslaw were fresh and flavorful, rounding out the meal nicely.

The service was friendly and attentive, making the visit even more enjoyable. For two people, the total came to about $50, which I found very reasonable for the quality and portion size.

Overall, a wonderful spot for fish and chips lovers and I’ll definitely be coming back for the halibut!

We went to Annie’s for the 1st time tonight. I have an allergy to gluten and dairy. Man I was impressed. They had a whole menu for gluten free. The waitress made us feel very welcomed and she was very knowledgeable in the menu and what I could eat for my food allergies. They didnt make me feel like it was a problem at all it was almost like it was celebrated, they didnt shy away from advertising that it was a gluten free place. It made me feel very comfortable. We are about 20min away so we will for sure be back again! And I have already told a bunch of friends that have allergies about it.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!! All the best.

I’ve been dining at this incredible fish and chips restaurant in Stratford, Ontario, since long before 2017, and my admiration for them has only grown—especially after being diagnosed with celiac disease and having to eat strictly gluten-free. Sean and Virginia, the amazing owners, have truly built something special. Their dedication to providing a safe and delicious gluten-free dining experience has earned them a stellar reputation, and they stand out as a shining example in the gluten-free restaurant world.

What sets them apart is their certification as a gluten-free establishment, ensuring it’s completely safe for celiacs. But even beyond that, their food is outstanding! From the perfectly battered fish and chips to onion rings, fish cakes, and even battered mushrooms, every dish I’ve tried has been exceptional. They’ve mastered the art of creating gluten-free meals that taste just as good—if not better—than their traditional counterparts. Their commitment to making gluten-free diners feel “normal” is heartwarming; we get our own menus that look just like regular ones, which is such a thoughtful touch.

The atmosphere is always welcoming, the prices are fair, and they’re constantly innovating. They’ve added a lovely patio, a food boat (food truck) for events, and even a freezer section stocked with their own gluten-free products and those of other local businesses. It’s incredible to see their growth and how they continue to support both the community and the gluten-free world.

Sean, Virginia, and their hardworking staff make it all seem effortless, though it’s clear how much passion and dedication they pour into their business. Restauranting is no easy feat, but they’ve truly made a difference for people like me who often feel left out of the dining experience. If I could give them more than 5 stars, I absolutely would! Highly recommend this gem to anyone, gluten-free or not—it’s simply amazing.

I’ve heard great things about Annie’s for years and finally checked it out tonight. I don’t know why I waited so long! As someone with Celiac disease, I felt so safe eating here since they are gluten free certified. The food was absolutely delicious and the scallops tasted like my aunt in NS used to make them. The staff are fantastic and knowledgeable, and the atmosphere reminds me of the English-style fish & chips shops my dad took me to as a kid.
