This place was recommended by my brother, as I had to go to Bradenton. At 4:30 on a Friday evening it was a 35 minute wait for a party of two and over an hour for larger parties. That tells you how good the place is. The food was worth the wait. I had the fish and chips an I am a hearty eater. This is what was left over and I am taking home.

I wish I could give it 3.5 stars. The Rita flight was the best thing there. The clam chowder and service were good. The grilled Mahi mahi was a bit dry. I wouldn’t recommend the potatoes since they are just whole red potatoes that are bland. The lobster Mac and cheese tasted a bit weird. Not sure if I’ll go back.

After spending the day at the Florida State Fair in Tampa, my fiancé and I decided to stop by Anna Maria Oyster Bar in Ellenton—and we’re so glad we did!
We ordered fried oysters, French fries, and cheese grits, and everything was absolutely delicious. The oysters were fried to perfection, crispy on the outside yet tender and flavorful inside. The cheese grits were just the way I like them—nice and thick—and the fries were a great complement to the meal. Even better, our food arrived quickly and fresh.
Our waitress, Lilly, was fantastic, providing friendly and attentive service. We also appreciated how the rest of the staff greeted us warmly as we walked through the restaurant. It’s little details like that that make a place feel extra welcoming.
The restaurant itself was clean and well-kept, including the bathrooms, which is always a big plus.
Anna Maria Oyster Bar now has four locations, and after this experience, I’d definitely visit again. If you’re in the Ellenton area and craving fresh seafood with great service, this spot is a must-try!

Killa Vanilla
We had such a great experience at this seafood restaurant while visiting from out of town! The assortment of appetizers was incredible—fresh, flavorful, and a perfect way to sample a bit of everything. The real standout, though, was the service. Vicki went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, especially with our kids. She was patient, thoughtful, and made sure they were happy and comfortable the whole time. It’s not always easy dining out with little ones, but Vicki made it a breeze. Highly recommend this place for families and seafood lovers alike!
