This building is a sorry excuse for a place to get food I can’t believe it even says a restaurant under it. Im sure hundreds of others can agree with me that if you’re stationed here, it should be optional to have $400 of your paycheck taken out to get sent here. Food quality: In my experience, I’ve been served chicken that appears undercooked (pink inside) repeatedly—at least every other day—which is unacceptable and concerning from a food safety standpoint. They will only make improvements on the place and the food if somebody high ranking is showing up. They only care about impressing them. After that it’s back to the food they left out 2-3 days ago to serve to us.
The rice is often hard and poorly prepared, and portions are noticeably rationed, leaving customers with far less than what is reasonably expected for a meal. On top of that, staff behavior has frequently been rude and unprofessional. And I don’t have to go into every single problem with each food that is served there as many others already know what I’m talking about.
By evening chow, there is often little to no food left, which shows poor planning and disregard for customers who come later in the day. Overall, the food quality, service, and consistency are far below acceptable standards, and this place needs serious improvement. Either that or stop making us pay forcing us to go here. The worst of it all, they expect us to wear not only proper civilian attire (Because that’s just not good enough for them), but specifically belt loops as if we are walking into Gordan Ramsey’s steakhouse. As if they ever look at their own flaws.

look, you can’t make marines happy, and that’s why the anderson chow hall is so poorly rated. however, it has been the highlight of my rimpac 2024 mcbh experience. the food might not be something to write home about, but every time i eat here i get plenty of food spanning all of my micro and macronutrients. clearly a lot of people work very hard to produce a lot of food replete with variety, condiments, desserts, and even dunkin donuts coffee. for the swipe of a cac card, the anderson chow hall is hard to beat.

The only semi decent thing there is the breakfast burritos but make sure there isn’t a roach running around in your food before taking a bite. My last year or so i didn’t even bother going unless i was desperate. Easy parking after a pay day cause nobody is eating there.

Worst Chow hall ever. Some of the workers are useless and give you attitude (especially in the mornings). The food is bad and portions are ridiculous. God forbid you ask for more food on your plate. Ticket system??? Get rid of that. I just want to eat inside and take my seconds back to my room. Every time I go inside the chow hall, a little bit of soul leaves my body due to how depressing the atmosphere is

Gotta start off by admitting that I’m a fairly easy pleaser. The meal I had (breakfast) was fine. Nothing a little hot sauce and salt couldn’t invigorate! The bananas were in pretty bad shape though. Not really yellow or green. Just sorta… dull. Like the light in the eyes of the workers. The PFC behind the omelette grill told me that one could get just two eggs per pink ticket. It used to be three! Funny, the places costs are cut to save money. Not when negotiating bloated contracts for the zillions of dollars of gear we’ll never use… but the chow hall. Ah, and the roads. The streets surrounding Anderson chow hall are plagued with potholes. Some air winger was telling me once that there’s a screw, or a nut, or some other piece of trivial hardware on the Osprey that costs hundreds of bucks. Perhaps we could appeal to the patriotism of the company that sells those nuts for a military discount? 15% off, and we could get an extra egg for every troop, some healthy bananas, and an asphalt crew to come pave the roads.

The chicken is okay if it isn’t dryer than the Sahara Desert on a hot summer day. Most of the employees are extremely rude and work very slow. The portions are ridiculous, they give you a piece of meat that couldn’t satisfy a toddler and then enough dry, hard rice to feed an entire African village for the next 7 years of famine. The ticket system is ridiculous, it really showcases the fact that their goal is not to feed servicemembers but rather to be stingy nail biters whose only desire is to line their pockets with DoD funding. Honestly the worst chow hall I have ever been to, some field chow halls top this one. Pvt Anderson would be rolling in his grave if he lived to see the defamation to his name that is Anderson Chow Hall.
Friendly reminder that roughly $400 per marine per month is paid towards this atrocity. And there is a sign out front that states that nearly 10 MILLION DOLLARS was put into renovating the facilities. What a disappointment, I’m sure if tax payers saw what their money is going towards they would share my disappointment.

Chicken parm on mondays is the only time it’s worth eating here then at breakfast is such small portions you have to get back in line get another ticket and waste another ten minutes waiting just to be told you can’t get to go if you already have a to go bag with you the system sucks
