I ordered beef fried rice and chicken wings. Fried rice is normal, and chicken wing was awful because it has spoiled smells on 2 pieces of wing out of 10 pieces. I told the owner about spoiled wings, he reaction was priceless. He said “ohhhhhh”. And doing nothing. I wouldn’t come back here again.

So, I remember the first time I ate at American Deli. It was at Century Plaza Mall in Birmingham, Alabama. Food was good back then and still is now.
My friends and I decided to go here for lunch today. The eatery will always get a five star rating from me. If company has more than two location it is doing something right. Below are pros, cons, and pic’s.

Great atmosphere
Clean
Friendly service
Freshly served food at appropriate temperature
To go meals served promptly and never have to wait
Variety of dishes and beverages
Servers/cashiers are knowledgeable and professional
Reasonable pricing
Convenient location w/ at least (2) more I know about

Ordered here using Uber Eats and they gave my order to someone who was not an Uber driver and refused to remake the order when the real Uber driver showed up!

I have been here before. Maybe there is new management or new staff(cooks). I have NEVER BEEN DISAPPOINTED and angry, and hingry. I was at work when we took orders and went and waited in line. Sitting at my desk waiting for this. And they are charging $14.99 for this! How!? Inflation is high but is unacceptable. I will not go back. My Philly cooked at home looks better than this mess.

I dont believe this restaurant takes call-in orders because I tried a few times and they never answered. Anyway, I went in to order a combo with fish and chicken, ranch fries, and the punch. It was pretty good. It only took about 10 minutes and I received hot and fresh food. The hot lemon pepper wings have the right amount of hot AND lemon pepper. They forgot to add ranch to my fries (but quickly added the ranch when I made them aware) so definitely check your food before leaving.

If I’m calling to add something or correct something I need y’all to answer the phone. We’re your patrons. We keep you in business! Answer the phone and go to Atlanta to learn how to do basic hot wings. And no wings are dry! Tf how is it I order garlic pepper and the wings are dry like y’all don’t add butter to it?! It’s so odd. Lemon pepper and other sauces are always supposed to be wet just add butter and the seasoning that’s it! Ugh so annoying. And if I pay a dollar for extra sauce on doordash then I expect my wings to be swimming ! The only postive was the fish. The fish was excellent.

Super unfriendly service. The food was okay considering they didn’t have chili cheese fries. They don’t give refills on drinks. The man on the register is dry and unseasoned. No smile very bad demeanor. The place is dark and a bit dirty. Irondale Alabama has the best American Deli, they serve chili cheese fries and give 1 free refill. Their gas pipeline was busted so I came to Homewood and guess what? It was a mistake. Good riddance. See you never byeeee
