The menu only features 2-3 vegetarian options and they are either a sad salad or something carb-heavy with no protein (pasta or bread). No vegan options exist beyond a salad with cheese removed. And every option, no matter how savory, has a sweet element to it (e.g., a salad dressing with honey, agave in the soup, honey in the cheese).
I tried the biscuits and the mushroom toast. The biscuits were excellent–buttery and rich in the best possible way. They came with jams, butter, and a sweetened whipped ricotta. This “starter” felt more like a dessert than anything else, but it was certainly enjoyable, if a bit heart stopping (you get 5 full-size warm biscuits). I also tried the mushroom toast per the recommendation from my waiter and found it very disappointing. Their sourdough has the texture of a cheap, white sponge bread and for $21 came topped with a sparse few mushrooms over a thin smear of sweetened ricotta. So not only was the dish unpleasantly sweet, it also felt like they were cost cutting on execution and not delivering something remotely worth the price or lengthy menu description. After starters and mains with so much sugar, we did not have it in us to even look at a dessert menu.
The place itself is nice and service was fantastic–warm and friendly in the best possible way. But I will definitely not be returning.
I ordered the Angus burger. It was on of the best burgers I’ve ever had! The onion jam was impressive.
I was told the beers, and their selection was quite good. Smoked wings were good too. And the lil one enjoyed his grilled cheese.
They have indoor and outdoor dining.
Make a reservation, sit back, and enjoy!
Their dinner menu is loaded with some great selections, both in the starter and the entrée lists. We had a tough time deciding, so we got a few things to share and try out. Their wings were really good, nice and smokey. Their ham board was great and nicely curated. Gazpacho was fresh, but a little too watery for my liking and I also would have preferred no bacon in it, but the flavor was decent. I also tried their burger, which was beautifully built and tasted decent.
Service was excellent… Sophie did an excellent job taking care of our table too! Definitely would return!
