A lot of voices online preach about how Little Bad Wolf has one of the best, if not the best, burgers in Chicago, so this place has been on my list for awhile. The staff was pleasant, and the ambiance is really top notch. The decor has a slight gothic feel to it and the music (mostly 2000s rock) really adds to the vibe. The only issue was the food. I got the Wolf Burger, as that’s what I’d been told to get, and it was just an overloaded, slightly above average burger. It was not bad, by any means, but it doesn’t hold a candle to places like Au Cheval or Kuma’s. Someone else got the double and that was a much more balanced burger and the flavors worked well together. I’d say get the double, not the triple if you go. In terms of the other food, the fries were fries, nothing special, but the fish taco was excellent. Best thing we had. However, the fried chicken my partner got was really subpar. Tasted like it had been fried in old oil, with a slightly acrid taste. Not to mentioned it was overcooked. I’m glad I went, the place is fun, but it definitely doesn’t live up to the hype. Fun atmosphere and you’ll certainly enjoy yourself. But if you want a great burger, you’d be better served going elsewhere.

We went here for my brother’s birthday since we have heard a lot of good things!

To start off, we surprisingly got seated right away despite it being lunchtime on a Saturday. Our waiter was phenomenal- she was so sweet and helpful!

We started off with the muscles and a duck bao bun- both of which were so good! The mussels and broth were delicious and the duck was crispy and so so tasty.

Then, my family got the wolf burger and I got the bad burger with an egg. They were delicious!! I would definitely recommend getting an egg and the fried onions on top of the bad burger. I was able to finish the bad burger but the wolf burger was too big for my parents haha.

They gave a generous amount of fries and the side salad was really good with several dressing options. And, the Mac and cheese was phenomenal! Also, all the food came out SUPER quick, like 5/10 minutes!

The building was pretty cozy but nothing special.

Overall, this place was very good! No dessert but there’s enough food to make you full!! Maybe a little bit pricy but worth it.

Our waiter was lovely. We were seated right away on a Saturday afternoon. I was craving a steak and ordered the steak frites medium. I was only able to finish half of it. They are generous with the fries as well which are made in house. The burger was tasty and juicy. The side salad was also generous in size. Coming back soon!

4 Stars – Great food, but please… let’s talk about reservations

To the owners, managers, or whoever decided that *not* taking reservations was a brilliant idea—let me break it to you gently: it’s not. This is a burger spot. No one should be waiting 45 minutes for something they’ll finish in about 10. The place is always packed, which is exactly why taking reservations would make perfect sense.

Now, onto the food. The burgers are genuinely good—slightly overdone for my taste, but the flavors are there. I do wish there were at least *some* veggies involved. It’s basically a patty and a bun, and the cheese barely makes an appearance. A tomato or a bit of crunch wouldn’t hurt anyone.

Mac and cheese, on the other hand, was excellent—rich, creamy, and actually seasoned like someone in the kitchen cares. Easily one of the highlights of the meal.

Fries were crispy, just how I like them, but they’re extremely thin. I prefer fries with a bit more “potato personality,” so the super-skinny style isn’t my favorite.

We also tried a salad, and the portions here are enormous—you will not go home hungry. Ever.

Overall, not a bad experience at all. Good flavors, fun vibe, but with a reservation system and a few tweaks, this place could go from “very good” to “amazing.”

The food here was absolutely incredible! We started with three of their delicious baos—duck, pork, and beef—and each one was a perfect bite. We also shared a missiles bowl with a side of fries and some amazing Brussels sprouts. We loved every single thing we ordered. The atmosphere was also great and made for a really fun dinner. Can’t wait to come back!

Came here on the hunt for the best burger in chicago. Really good contender which a classic smash burger with their own sauce and good pickles. Would have liked for there to be an option for other cheeses other than American or blue cheese and the burgers were a touch salty in my opinion but still delicious. Suggest getting the onion straws added as well. The Mac and cheese was one of the best I’ve ever had with tons of green onions and bacon- really suggest doing the upcharge for this side. Fries were perfectly crispy and thin and the bao buns were awesome- loved the duck and pork. Music was a little loud which made it difficult to hear those you were sitting with. Cocktails were too notch.

Well, this was an experience. The place made me feel like I’d accidentally walked into a millennial time capsule—craft beers, neon lights, and a menu that screams “we have Wi-Fi.”

The food looks amazing, like something you’d see in a commercial where no one actually eats. My girlfriend and I ordered the mac and cheese, pork bao, and Wolf Burger. The mac and cheese was so creamy it felt like it was trying to apologize for something. The burger tasted like Wendy’s in its prime—which isn’t an insult—but at these prices, I expected Gordon Ramsay to deliver it personally.

The fries were the MVP—crispy, golden, perfect. Our server was awesome too, so props there.

Overall, it’s not bad, just one of those places that’s a little too proud of itself. Fun once, not twice.

Sustaining a reputation for excellent burgers can be quite challenging especially in this stretch of Andersonville, where there is no shortage of good food and drinks. But this place not only keeps up with quality burgers, its other items, like Mac and cheese, are also quite good. While the food items are great, cocktails are even better. Very few places are suitable for lunch, dinner, or late night eats, but this place is highly recommended for all hours.

Went to LBW yesterday with my family of 7 because we honestly wanted to see if it was on par with Au Cheval’s burger and to finally find out who has the best burger in Chicago. The consensus (according to my family) is that the burger at LBW is neck and neck with Au Cheval’s. A couple of my children prefer LBW and a couple of them prefer Au Cheval. I wish I could say that one was better than the other, but I can’t. For me, it was about the same in terms of quality and taste. LBW has a great burger and so does Au Cheval, so I suggest you try both.
