Amber on the Upper West Side has been one of our go to spots for many years. We probably order take-out more than we dine in but the sushi and service is absolutely fantastic in either setting. Amber is definitely our favorite sushi spot in the surrounding area. We have never really had a bad experience here in the 10 plus years that we’ve frequented the place. Highly recommend.

The best part of the experience was completely private dining in the back garden…however we should have taken the lack of other diners as the first sign. We ordered 3 tapas dishes, a cocktail, and 3 sushi rolls. I won’t berate every dish, but something was a bit off about everything we ordered (ratios, textures, sauces, freshness, quality, etc). Ultimately spent 100+ for a very average, if not below average experience, service was very kind, but wouldn’t go back or recommend.

Great food amazing service and open at noon on a Sunday. Loved the ambiance. Cosy setting with good music. I would have given five ⭐ except the pieces of sashimi were super thin and it’s only 1 piece per order. Other than that I will definitely be returning. The sticky ribs are truly mouth watering..
