We’ve come to Amaani for my dad’s birthday treat tonight and it was wonderful. The staff was very lovely and the food was incredible. Some of the best Indian cuisine with huge portions. Couldn’t help but to have dessert too which was also great. Highly recommend it and we will definitely be back!

Whilst staying nearby on a break we dropped in for a takeaway. The customer in front of us mentioned he’d travelled across town passing several other options because he’d concluded Amanni is the best in Durham – so we knew we were onto something good and that certainly proved to be the case. The staff were super friendly & very generous and the food was ready in no time. Everything was delicious – best curry we’ve had had in a long while – special shout out to the Tandoori Mixed Grill. Will definitely be back next time we visit Durham.

We booked for 10 and they had us squashed in the corner, we were so tight together and the place was empty. Felt like the meals were just thrown at us when served. Meal was tasty and well presented. I’d go for the food but definitely not the service.

The food was delicious, perfectly seasoned and balanced. We had apnar style lamb, Balti chicken garlic sag and lemon cashew nut rice and everything was amazing! The service was immaculate and staff polite and friendly. 100% would recommend coming here for a variety of Indian dishes.

Exceptional experience on the outskirts of Durham. Went at Sunday lunchtime, but opted out of the great lunchtime (albeit limited) deal as it was our first visit and wanted to sample more of the menu. Both went for the Thali trays (tandoori and vegetable, respectively) along with a fish momo starter and additional vegetable side (mushroom bhaji). The Thali choice was a perfect introduction to what Amaani have to offer. Both the meat and vegetable trays offered 4 different tikka or curry dishes each as good and flavourful as the last. My partner informs me that the tikka masala was a true standout compared to other restaurants we’ve tried. Thali portion for money is also exceptional, considering you get to sample four curries, small starter portion, rice and bread – you can’t really go wrong. Our only reservation is that the dishes lacked heat spice wise, which albeit we probably could have asked for spicier of we’d thought about it! Will recommend, and will go again!

Busy when we arrived so about 45 minutes before poppadoms arrived. Curried were good, staff useful when discussing spiciness. Dessert was still a little bit frozen.

Omg beautiful food and staff were so lovely and very fast hard working people.
We stumbled upon this restaurant and I’m so glad we did they actually made room for us as we were a last minute booking and they were very polite.

• More than enough choice on menu and the menu was planned out lovely especially for me that doesn’t really know Any other food then masala haha I actually try something new and loved it too.
Don’t think because it’s busy you had a wait on your food because you will most definitely not.
