Alvarez Mexican Restaurant

We went to eat between lunch and dinner time, but I am pretty sure people don’t normally come here for the food. It is set up for a dance club. But…they SHOULD come for the food! The rice and beans were pretty good. The carnitas and beef were slow cooked forever and really nicely flavored. The steak was sooooo tender. The shrimp was not overcooked. All of the grilled meats were just really good. You get a LOT of sourcream with your food, if that’s what you’re into. The salsa was really mild, but the green one tastes like jalapenos and is a tiny bit spicy. The staff was great. I believe that they were probably the owners and the cooks. Go!

Came for the pork tacos in the photos, then found out they had homemade mole sauce. Will have to come back for the tacos, the mole was amazing! Service was super friendly, and food was ready quick.

This is a very very simple menu. Nothing flashy or fancy. My only issue is that I found the salsa with the chips a tad off-putting but it was still very good just was not what I was expecting and the seasoning to be a bit light but that is just my own personal taste as I love a good kick to my food. That being said that’s why I give this 4 stars. I had the mole and that was very tasty as well as a margarita. Everything was perfect for my meal. Definitely worth a try if you have never had it before.

Speedy friendly service, ty Hector! Really tasty guacamole with chips. Had the tacos(3) pastor, very good flavorful and moist. Served with refried beans and rice. Yes yes yes to the Herradura margarita. It’s a gem.

The food was very salty, and dry, the rice also had no flavor. The taco meat tasted like it was expired i couldnt force myself to take a second bite. The whole meal was extremely overpriced for the quality and not to mention the bad service.
