We had a wonderful Valentines dinner. Started with an Old Pear cocktail and the Raclette appetizer. Absinthe note and the thyme garnish make the Old Pear and winter favorite. The Raclette is a must have. Such a great combination of funk from the cheese, smoky ham and sweetness from the preserves. Our second course was the Gerkinsalat – a refreshing salad with a nice touch of dill. For pasta they offered a special Beet Ravioli we loved. Lots of earthy beet flavors complemented with a creamy cheese sauce. We also shared the Wienerschnitzel – great texture. For dessert we shared the Apfelkuchen – so unique with a rich maple flavor contrasting the apple sorbet. The staff was all very helpful and engaging. Cozy ambience next to the real fireplace. So good. We will be back.

I’ve been here a couple times but this was my first brunch. Highly recommend. Make an early reservation if you want a table next to the fireplace. I brought two first timers and they loved it. Don’t skip out on the sweets! Can’t wait to come back again for dinner.

We traveled in from out of town for a date night and went for dinner on a Saturday, reservations booked in advance. This place is quite popular so reservations are recommended! My husband and I have both been to Switzerland and immediately agreed we felt like we were transported back during our time there. The ambiance is perfectly constructed. From the moment we walked in, the service was warm, welcoming, attentive and carried through until we left. The wine selection was sufficient and allowed us to get a delicious bottle of Sauvignon blanc to share. After perusing the menu, we settled on the Raclette for an app, the Chicken Goulash and the Polenta Al Sugo. All dishes were absolutely dishes – well balanced, rich in flavor and satisfying in portions. If we come back to the area, we will definitely return with friends/family.

Beautiful restaurant in downtown Detroit. Our food came quickly – barely had to wait even though it was a full house! Their service was great. Our waiters were really down to earth. We had the piedmontese ragu pasta, schnitzel, braised red cabbage, and an olive oil apple cake. The food was good but nothing over the top. They had really cool merch, so we ended up buying a shirt!

Second time being here for a special occasion and I still love it. Sat upstairs the frist time and it was loud but able to talk comfortably. Second time, was seates downstairs and it was a quieter vibe. I think it depends on how busy they are. Alpino was accommodating before with my food allergies but they stepped up their game with putting GF, V and VEG labels on the menu. Staff is super accommodating to dietary needs and was willing to modify dishes for me to make them safe. I even got a gluten and dairy free dessert, which was wonderful as well. Would definitely come here again!

Everything was amazing from start to finish. I’ve had meals in the Alps and this comes very close to the food there. Staff were very friendly and knowledgeable and the restaurant is so cozy. Definitely will be back soon!

You MUST have the risotto. It is out of this world . It is not the traditional risotto, it is unique, a perfect combination of flavor and texture . The rosti was also super amazing, another MuST, as well as the raclette. Cam, was super attentive, knowledgeable and gave us the best recommendations .

Alpino Detroit is absolutely delightful. From the wait staff to the entrees we selected; this place just works. Abbey is awesome! She made our first experience at Alpino super special. Entrees are a la carte and sides are ordered as you want, but the entree itself was a good size portion. I didn’t have dessert this time, but I’m excited to return and see what they have to offer.

The service here was friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. The menu is well composed and the dishes use fresh herbs very well. Highlights were san marzano soup, house made focaccia and toma and the chicken goulash with house made spatzle.
