Amazing service and delicious food! Added chicken to my seasonal vegetable kabob. It was perfect! Tender, flavorful and truly a delight. The cocktail was well balanced and complimented my meal perfectly.
Salad was not as well balanced as I like but that’s a small complaint. Service was exceptional, Edward was an outstanding.

Incredible Food, but the Service Experience Needs More Grace!
We visited Alora at City Center Bishop Ranch for a weekend dinner with friends. While the food was some of the best we’ve had in San Ramon, the service and management left a lot to be desired, which is why I’m rating this a 4 instead of a 5.
Ambiance & Decor
The interior of Alora is stunning. The decor is very tasteful, and the restaurant is spacious with plenty of seating for guests. It has a great vibe for a night out–on paper, it’s the perfect place for a celebration.
Service & Management (The “Could Be Better”)
Unfortunately, the hospitality didn’t match the beautiful surroundings and quality of food. The hostess was not very accommodating or friendly, and the manager on duty that evening lacked the grace you’d expect at an upscale establishment.
There was a mix-up regarding our table, and the management handled it with a very “stiff” attitude–insisting we wait until the specific person who made the reservation arrived before seating us or adjusting the table. For a family celebration, you want to feel welcomed from the moment you walk in. I’m hesitant to recommend this for special occasions until the front-of-house team adopts a warmer, more hospitable approach.
The Food (A Perfect 5/5)
The kitchen is the absolute star here. The food was phenomenal:
* Octopus Souvlaki: Hands down the best we’ve ever had. It was served with golden potatoes and spanish chorizo sausage and was perfectly executed.
* Fried Burrata: Very tasty, though the cream served with it was cold; it would have been even better if served warm.
* Muhammara: This roasted red bell pepper dip with pomegranate molasses and spiced walnuts was unique and delicious. We paired it with their fresh pita, which was fantastic.
* Mixed Grill Family Platter: We thoroughly enjoyed the shrimp, chicken, and adana kebab skewers. The staff mentioned the beef wasn’t up to their standard that night, so they proactively replaced it with another adana kebab skewer, which we appreciated.
Final Thought
The food at Alora is truly top-notch, but the “stiff” vibe from the hostess and management made the experience feel less like a celebration and more like a transaction. If they can improve their reception and add a bit more warmth to their hospitality, this place would easily be a 5-star gem in Bishop Ranch.

This Mediterranean restaurant offers a variety of Mediterranean cuisines to its menu offering. It offers lots of seafood variety ro pick from. Love the dessert selection. We had a great time celebrating couple family birthdays and client milestones.

Overall a very disappointing experience – the food was subpar and underwhelming and extremely overpriced for low quality food. Attached is a photo of the “greek” salad ($19!!) – there was nothing greek about this salad. I’ve had many authentic greek salads in Greece and greek restaurants in the US and this was a joke – it was just a head of lettuce that we had to cut ourselves with a weird creamy dressing and used cheap black olives rather than kalamata. The worst part is that we told the servers that we didn’t like the food and the management did nothing about it. You would expect a place like this at this price point for them to care about their customers and provide good service. But this was not the case. We were also surprised that a single piece of pita costs $7 whereas most mediterranean restaurants provide complimentary pita.
The main dishes (salmon, eggplant) we got were also underwhelming. The eggplant main dish was extremely, overly sweet – not balanced flavors at all. The salmon was OK, not bad but nothing impressive. The only thing we liked was the mushroom dolma. The ambiance is nice but not worth the low quality food for such a high price.
I strongly would NOT recommend this place.

The food is delicious! For a Wednesday evening the service wasn’t the best, not overly crowded, plenty of staff…but the service was definitely rough…slow, multiple asks for basics. I will definitely try again…because of the food and atmosphere! If the service doesn’t improve that’s going to be a problem for this business though. Baklava for dessert please ♥️

Our experience at Alora was great!
Yelp Elite Dario O. and I were in the area and I was craving Mediterranean food and Alora Social popped up on Yelp. Although, they are Mediterranean-style eats, we still really enjoyed everything.
I made a reservation for 12:15 but arrived by 12:30 (thank you Alora for still taking us in). Thankfully, it wasn’t as busy for a Friday lunch so we were seated right away. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with bright colors that really open up the space.
They have seating indoors and outdoors.
They also have a cafe starting at 8am! I regret not trying anything from their cafe because the menu sounded amazing! They also have a vast selection of wine bottles for purchase. Unless it’s for wine tasting? Honestly, I didn’t look much into it. I just saw a wall of wine and thought, “wow!”
Once we ordered, food came out in a timely matter. Portion sizes are shareable for at least 2 mouths and in my opinion, inexpensive. Definitely quality AND quantity!
Each dish lived up to its name and what’s expected of it. Everything tasted fresh, tender, very well seasoned/ marinated.
We ordered:
– Kale Salad + Shrimp (This one’s my fave! The kale was crunchy and fresh. I loved the chickpeas and tangerines(?) added in the salad. It was dressed so well that every bite did not disappoint!)
– Salmon (the walnut crust is a great idea! It adds so much texture to the tender salmon)
– fried burrata (the focaccia was buttery, airy, crisp and a perfect pair with the burrata!)
– fried (omg, these were perfect! We loved the airy-ness yet crisp and tenderness from the fried. They’re Greek Tavern style fries tossed with lemon, garlic, parsley, oregano. The sauces it came with, 10/10!)
– frutti di mare (honestly my least fave, but it was still tasty. A bit spicy but the noodles were tender and you get a good amount of noodles and seafood.)
Overall, I’d 100% come back here for lunch and/or dinner! They also have happy hour daily.

I was really excited to try Alora since they opened in San Ramon! The look of the restaurant is very inviting and pretty and we were seated in a nice spot. We ordered the appetizer sampler platter and all of the dips were delicious, I can’t choose a favorite. The bread that came with it was also very tasty and slightly unique. I ordered the adana kebob and thought it was excellent. My husband got the shrimp and they were very good as well. Their house harissa was spicy and spot on and I want to go back just to have it again. Salman came to our table a couple times to make sure everything came out well. I recommend giving them a try!

Food was well presented and pretty tasty. Not somewhere I would be dying to go back to, but I wouldn’t be against it either. I had their signature G&T which was also pretty good. We initially loved our server but we made a couple jokes and then she got super weird with us… not sure what was going on there. Loved the atmosphere of the place though- very cute and good vibes.
Vegetarian dishes include salads or ordering something and asking to have without the meat. Luckily I do eat fish, and there were many seafood options. Several veg. appetizers.

The food was delicious. The service needs work. Took way too long to get our cocktails. We ordered more cocktails from our server and he didn’t bring them. What appears to be a manager finally brought our cocktails. The busier cleared our table and brought back spoons. We had to ask the hostess for forks. Not sure I will be back. I love Greek food and there are other options.
