The first time I had tamales here, I was picking up 5 dozen for a family event. I got in my car and decided to sample a jalapeño and cheese. (The smell was so good I couldn’t resist). That tamale was so delicious I went back into the store and ordered another 2 dozen. You can’t go wrong with any of them. My family loves the pork and I loved the lentil curry.

Anita’s tamales are simply outstanding! These were the first tamales we ever had, and after reading the prior reviews, we decided to place an order. We could not have been more pleased! Anita and her husband support local growers and the freshness of the ingredients is readily apparent. Recommend calling your order in ahead of time. Also the hours reflected on Google Maps are not quite accurate, as the restaurant is open on Sunday as well from 1100-1500.

Disappointed with how dry and crumbly the tamales I got today are (frozen pork and chicken). Not very flavorful either. Has to add lots of salt to them. $10 for only 6, seemed over priced. Especially for something I had to doctor up for flavor.

Chicken tamatillo tamales are EXCELLENT! The chicken is seasoned perfectly and is not overpowering. This is a tamale that the whole family can enjoy because it’s not “make you passout hot with spice.” The chocolate tamales were amazing, too. These would be excellent for any occasion especially the holidays.

Been a fan of this place for years. We usually buy at the Rockwall Farmers Market and take home to eat. Yesterday we got the pumpkin tamales for the first time and had them for breakfast with some caramel sauce on the top. I must tell you that these are now my new favorite! I love all things pumpkin anyway, and these have such a nice pumpkin flavor with just the right amount of spicing. They are not super sweet (which I like), so the caramel sauce added the perfect amount of sweetness. I highly recommend these, but make sure and get two packages instead of one. You’ll thank me! 😉
