Great dining experience! One of those evenings where I sat down and the first time I noticed my watch we had been there almost 3 hours! Do yourself a favor and sit at the “Chef’s Table”. Its obvious Chef Hutton and the rest of the staff have passion for what they are doing, it shows in every dish! Beef Filet, Lamb and Quail were all amazing! One of our sides were some potato planks (can’t remember what they are actually called) Best potato bite I have ever had! Deserts were just as good as the rest. Wine list and whisky selection are very good also. We had a nice red blend from South Africa with dinner. Also sampled a couple of whiskys the bar staff recommended, both were new to me and excellent!

We will return, we made our next reservation before we left that night!

We decided to try this new restaurant based on the premise that chef Zach Hutton is local (Apache, OK) and that all his meals are using local farm grown or farm raised products. We had a reservation for dinner, and we are glad we did because when we arrived the place was packed. Inside the restaurant, the main room is not big but it has plenty of sittings, and interestingly, there is a counter where we can watch the staff, with chef Hutton at their lead, take the orders, and prepare the plates. The walls in the main room are covered with mirrors so all guests can watch the kitchen activity, and it totally reminded us of watching the popular series The Bear, that also tells the story of a young chef starting his restaurant.
Of course it comes with the good, but also the less good. At one moment smoke started to spread from the kitchen when something was cooked too hot.
The cocktails were great. Their dirty martini was on point, which is a sign of quality to our eyes, and I ordered their Alma’s Precious Moment signature cocktail, where they print a picture on top of the foamy drink. It was certainly a fun moment for us and a great cocktail.

For a starter, we ordered the Tartare taster, that had both bison tartare and beef tartare (it was good, even though a little blend, maybe the toasted sourdough chips flavor cover the tartare), and the charcuterie board (great, especially the pork belly and the homemade sourdough bread).

Food wise we ordered the Spanish Seabass (buttery and wonderful, the gratin of potatoes bathing in Chimichurri beurre was good, but again a little blend. A little bit of salt would have probably helped but none was available on the table but we did not ask either)
The highlight meal to me was their stuffed quail with a side of sautéed local mushrooms. The glaze was as incredibly tasty and everything on the plate was great. Highly recommended.
Our friends ordered the fillet mignon, which was really perfectly cooked (the crust was the best part, as it was perfectly grilled) and the seared salmon, which was served with local farm vegetables.
We were so full that we did not order any desert, but the next time we go, I will try their lemon crême brûlée that looked excellent.

Overall, we really enjoyed our experience. It felt warm and the staff was very welcoming and they took great care of us well. Being able to watch the chef and his staff in action while we ate was fun (for The Bear’s fans). We all thought that the food was tasting a little blend, was it because everything was cooked with local vegetables? Or simply because it missed a little salt? But the good atmosphere made up for this slight miss.

Overall, I really enjoyed my experience at Alma. It’s the previous Ludivine restaurant location, btw. I had never been there before, but it is a lovely establishment. We didn’t have reservations, so we ate back in the bar area. It was still a nice area with lots of activity happening. First of all, the cocktails are really good. The bar tender working this evening really honed their craft and served delicious and pleasing to the eye beverages. This is a place to enjoy a drink or two. Second, their charcuterie board was large and full of tasty choices, well worth the price. Third, they have some salad and soup options which I didn’t try, but I saw others order. They looked like great options. I ordered the sea bass, and it was delicious. It came with a unique and tasty side of potatoes. Personally, for the price, another side of vegetables like green beans, asparagus or vegetable medely of some sort would be really nice. We had great service, and everyone was so kind and friendly. I plan to return if only for the drinks, but I’m curious to try their brunch and lunch menu as well.

On their first day of lunch service I decided to try out the Classic burger and fries. Chef Hutton has always had a great burger no matter where he was serving up great meals. That being said I was slightly let down by this classic burger. The juicy patty with local fresh tomato, lettuce, and spicy pickles all shine in flavor. However, the bun seems to absorb all of the liquids and the bottom part becomes mush by the end. I had to finish my burger with a fork. The fries are also lacking for me. They are thinly cut and don’t really pack much of a punch. To me, the price is a little too high for what I got. I wanted to try some of dessert so I went with the French pastry they called Chocolate. It is served cold with a nice helping of Chocolate Buttercream, Crunchy Peanuts, & Creamy Chocolate Ganache Filled Pastry Topped with Caquelin. It has a subtle taste that is pleasing. I will be back for dinner to try the showstopper entrees so that I can give a full review. The menu has a lot to choose from. As always the service and atmosphere are top notch at a Chef Hutton restaurant. Enjoy!

Had an absolutely excellent brunch experience this morning at OKC’s Alma. First off, the ambiance of the restaurant is perfect – very midcentury vibe with an open kitchen surrounded by tables. The brunch menu was filled with amazing options, which made it difficult to decide what to order – one of my friends started with the watermelon gazpacho which was very fresh and flavorful. On a cool and overcast morning, I was feeling the need for comfort food so ordered the biscuits and gravy with a side of sausage balls. Wow…definitely the best biscuits and gravy I’ve ever had! Chef Luke stopped by our table and also explained the origin of all of the main ingredients, with so many being local to the OKC metro area. Even the sausage in the sausage balls! Throughout the meal the service was excellent – my coffee cup was never allowed to go cold, and my friends enjoyed their latte and espresso martini as well. At the end of the meal, we all agreed that this has to be one of the best brunch places we’ve encountered in the OKC area. Enjoy!

Alma’s Sunday brunch was outstanding! The food was delicious, but the highlight was the miso sweet coffee. I wasn’t expecting much, but it turned out to be a delightful dessert in a cup. Highly recommend this hidden gem for a unique brunch experience. Five stars!

Excellent from start to finish! Lexi gave us great advice on the charcuterie and we will definitely be getting the tower next time! Mitch shook excellent drinks for us! His Cowboy rum cocktail had a smokey aroma and was amazing. Just order what ever he recommends, he won’t steer you wrong.

An appetizer of Sand Plum Lamb lollipops was the star of the show. A MR fillet of beef for her, I chose the Bison Ossobuco. Both perfectly cooked, yet the Bison was a bit salty, having been the last portion available. Both dishes executed to the standard expected. Black garlic carrots were a surprising treat, as was the Pave’ Fries. The lemon crème brûlée was a complete joke the curd was nothing more than soup. My date and I drank our dessert as a shot from the half lemon! The management said that wasn’t what they were trying to portray and kindly removed it from the bill. The Old Fashion “On Tap” is a good deal sweeter than I prefer but one must appeal to the masses. Additional Oenology training is required, yet this hurdle too was overcome. All in all, a wonderful experience and delightfully delicious. We’ll be back.
