Welcome to the Ale Emporium, home of Honest Pizza and World Famous Hermanaki® Wings since 1982. We are a family-run sports pub and restaurant with a focus on fresh ingredients and local beers. The Ale Emporium has been an Indianapolis landmark since 1982 when Marc Luros and partners established the Castleton location. Joined by Herman Perryman in the late 80’s and daughter and son-in law, Shannon and Scott Baun, in the 90’s, the Ale has continuously grown and become a significant supporter of local organizations. We are proud to be a local place where friends and family can gather to enjoy great food and drinks, cheer on your favorite team, and listen to live music.

Ale Emporium absolutely lives up to the hype. The atmosphere is lively and welcoming, and the food is outstanding. The Hermanaki wings are a must. They were perfectly cooked with that sweet and savory flavor everyone talks about. Great selection of drinks, friendly service, and the kind of place that makes you want to stay awhile & watch the game.

This is a great sports bar. There are widescreen TVs on every wall in the restaurant. I’m pretty sure you will find something you can watch while you eat. The menu options are nice. Their wings are a good choice. There are other things on the menu that look very appetizing. The service was good. The place was busy on the Wednesday my group of 3 dined in.

Tori did a REALLY good job serving our party of 8. This place is always super chaotic, you can’t hear yourself think. We came for our company dinner. We were almost late to our next event and had to eat out of to-go containers due to being short on time. We got there a little before 4:30 and left at 5:55p. Our second reservation was at 6p.
Everyone else tried the wrapped jalapeños and loved them. I was excited to see they added cauliflower to the menu so I was finally able to taste the wing sauces. I was skeptical at first because my taste buds have a mind of their own. So I asked to try a few of the sauces. Tori went above and beyond and did her big one and delivered a sample platter of sauces. Needless to say, I didnt like any of the sauces so went with BBQ. The food could’ve benefited from a little more seasoning. The mocktail was watered down and flavorless. My sweet potato fries was also missing flavor. I really wanted to give 3 stars but due to Tori’s amazing customer service, I scored higher.

This was a great place to have lunch today. You can get a great salad and a slice of pizza with a drink for about seven dollars. The food was very good. The service was excellent. They are really busy at lunch but the restaurant is very large and they are well staffed for the surge. We had no problems getting in and out on our lunch break. It is really easy to find using Google Maps with plenty of free parking.

The food is great here and it is an excellent place for groups or just friends. The main reason I decided to review this place is for their Hermanaki wings. They are absolutely amazing. Both the traditional and the strips are equally good. Very unique flavor for wings you won’t find anywhere else. If you are a wing fan you have to add these to your list.

What a great place! I finally decided to see what all the hype was about, and now that I’ve dined in, I completely understand it. The Quaff On! Strawberry Blonde Ale was excellent, and the Hermanaki wings were absolutely delicious. On top of that, the Tuesday ribeye special with two sides for $6.99 is an incredible deal. Definitely a spot worth checking out!

Love the wedge salad! It’s an entire head of lettuce and totally shareable. Wings and deep dish pizza are winners too. Large beer selection. Great live music on weekends and plenty of tvs to watch all the games.

Took myself to Ale in Castleton this evening. It was crowded as usual with a live band outside playing. Christi was my server and did wonderful. Although she was a bartender she had several tables she was serving and was attentive to everyone! Mozzarella sticks came out quick and were hot and fresh. I also got a snack size order of the Hermazian bone in wings! They were delicious and hot as always. Also, had an order of regular boneless wings to go with sweet BBQ snd she enjoyed them at home later on. Always a good choice and will return!
