Stopped by Alberto’s Mexican Food in downtown Salt Lake and had a great experience. The menu is big with a lot of options — tacos, burritos, tortas, quesadillas, and breakfast burritos served all day so there’s something for everyone.

I went with a burrito and it was packed with flavor and a really solid portion. The ingredients tasted fresh, and the balance of meat, pico, and guacamole made it really satisfying. Prices are reasonable too, especially for the amount of food you get.

One thing that stood out was the service. Mel at the counter was super friendly and welcoming, and you could tell he takes pride in making sure customers are taken care of. It’s always nice when the people working there make the experience feel personal.

Overall, it’s a great spot if you’re downtown and craving some good Mexican food without the fuss. Definitely a place I’d come back to.

I went inside for a quick afternoon bite. The place was very clean, bustling ( esp the drive thru) and seemed efficient. Very friendly customer service and more than adequately staffed. I had the 1/2 order of nachos w/o meat which were more than enough for 1 person. Very tasty and plenty of guac, sour cream and pico de gallo. I can’t rate other dishes, but the nachos were yummy and the place was clean and appealing.

Their salsas are dynamic, nice and colorful and the containers that hold the salsas are next level. Very intentional. I love a crunch and they give you a full bag of chips. Carne asada burrito was great, good quality, guacamole inside the burrito very tasty. Definitely this will be a place I come regularly and they are on the corner, you can’t miss it. Great price, belly is full.

Friendly and attentive staff with smiles and pleasant demeanor. We ordered and our food was out in less than 10 minutes. Very quick for carnitas, steak tacos, and taquitos combo plates. We were very full and took food home too. Large portions! Tasty salsa and tidy seating area. Highly recommend!

Alberto’s has that California Mexican Fast Food vibe. I eat there about once or twice a year when I get that craving for a carnitas burrito. I’ve found the food to be hit and miss. I think the 1st time I went there I had a great tasting burrito with slightly crisped carnitas and it has kept me coming back. However, every time I go it’s a different experience. Sometimes it’s pretty good and other times it’s just a greasy salty burrito that I don’t finish. It also seems to be made differently each time depending on the person making the burrito. I think they need to find consistency on how their food is prepared no matter who’s making it.

Excellent authentic Mexican food. You order and pay at the counter (or drive thru) then seat yourself in one of the varied sized booths throughout the dining area. Orders, when ready, must be retrieved from the counter as well. I found the girl who took our order to be a little standoffish and short with us.
But the food was excellent and filling. I got a combo meal with a shredded beef enchilada and a deep fried shredded beef taco served with Mexixan rice and refried beans. It was delicious and filled me up perfectly.

I have been coming here for years. This used is to be my spot for late night grub after a night out. I am glad to see that the service and quality of food hasn’t changed. The food hit the spot. I will be back.

Sorry, this visit was a miss for me.

SERVICE: Great service! The staff was very friendly and welcoming to the restaurant. Very nice staff.

ATMOSPHERE: Clean and well kept. While we were there, the staff were actively cleaning and wiping the tables.

FOOD: This is where it was a miss. The Beef Taco and Enchilada plate was huge, but the whole thing was smothered in the red sauce…I am not sure what’s going on with the cheese, but it was not melted or melting, just a gooey clump of yellow on the food. I didn’t like the flavor of the meat. I ate a bit of the rice and refried beans. There was a lot of lettuce as can be seen by the pictures I posted.

The chips and salsa with the side of guac was good…the guac seemed very fresh.

We did not eat our food.

Maybe it was a bad day for them in the kitchen. The restaurant normally gets good ratings, but I cannot eat clumpy cheese that is unable to be melted or a taco without good flavor.

Sorry
