I’m from Michigan, and this is my #1 favorite sushi spot. This is my second time coming back after a couple of years, and once again it did not disappoint. The service was very friendly, and everything tasted amazing. The Dragon Roll and Firecracker Roll (pictured) were fantastic, and the spring roll was great as well. Highly recommend!

Service was great and quick, however the sushi left something to be desired. We ordered the slow burn and it was not at all spicy, and the shogun which supposedly contained mango but was pretty tasteless and we certainly could not detect the mango.

My teenagers we honored to take in the peaceful atmosphere. The entrees were phenomenal. Presented beautifully. Only improvements I know times are hard. One waitresses worked the entire restaurant. No drink refills. It was impossible because the poor woman was everywhere. Food is delicious! I had empathy for waitresses and tipped well. Come for the peaceful authentic food.

The sushi was fresh, cold, and clearly handled properly, exactly how it should be. Everything tasted amazing, was well-packaged, and arrived in perfect condition. You could immediately tell the difference in quality and care. The flavors were great, the portions were solid, and nothing felt rushed or sloppy.
After a night of chaos, Akashi reminded us what good service and good food are supposed to be. This is exactly why we keep coming back — consistent, reliable, and genuinely delicious.
We’ll absolutely be ordering again. Highly recommend.

My wife and I recently were in the mood for some sushi and decided to stop into Akashi. We started with two sushi rolls—a Tropical Roll and a Thai Chili Roll—that were delicious. Each bite was perfectly balanced with fresh ingredients and bold flavors that left us impressed
To complement the sushi, we had the Gyoza (pork dumplings), which were crisp on the outside and tender, flavorful on the inside—a great way to kick off the meal
For the main event, we went with the Chicken Dolsot Bibimbap and the Beef Dolsot Bibimbap, and both were outstanding. The sizzling stone bowls added a delightful crispy texture to the rice, and the flavors of the perfectly seasoned meats, fresh vegetables, and savory sauces were spot-on
From start to finish, Akashi delivered a memorable dining experience with excellent food and great attention to detail. It’s a place we’ll gladly return to again!

This immediately became the local favorite of my fiancé and I after we first visited it a few months ago. The number of menu items is astounding, so much so that we have had several meals composed only of various combinations of appetizers. The servers are polite and professional, and we are always greeted upon entry and given a ‘thank you’ on our way out. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone with a penchant for Asian cuisine!

Being here for work and from Florida and California. Decided to take the drive and give it a try. It was very worth the drive from Springfield. Wonderful service, wonderful presentation and fresh! My new go to on my day off.
