My first try on Afghan food, but the best experience ever. Being curious about Afghan food, we just find it from Google map. Very delicious food. The Borani Banjan is a must try. IMHO, the Kabob is better than some Mediterranean food. Truly homemade. Definitely, will pay more visits regularly.

I had the chicken and beef plate. The food was well prepared and very delicious. The salad was crunchy and fresh. I’m only taking a star off because I think they served a bit too much rice for the amount of meat I got on the plate. It was definitely a stretch to finish all the rice.

akin to coming to a dear friend’s home to eat a home cooked meal. flavorful, comforting and fragrant—we loved everything we ordered! the bolanis were crispy, mantoo was silky, and the qabuli palow was balanced. all great portions too! the owners are deeply kind and passionate, and it shows. everything is cooked thoughtfully. we loved every bite and will definitely be back for more!

Ok literally please give this place your business. Will ruin all other bolanis for you but it’s worth it I will never be the same lol. The owners are so unbelievably nice and hardworking and they will almost definitely hook you up with an equally amazing appetizer or dessert on the house. LONG LIVE AFGHAN AWASANA KABOB HOUSE!!!!! <3 <3 <3
pictured: the borani banjan (stewed eggplant with yogurt sauce) that one of the owners gave me to snack on while I was waiting for my order :’O

Wow this is our new favorite for afgan food. First time here, and loving it. Tried the quibili pallao, chicken and lamb kebab, and pumpkin bolani. The bolani was especially good – better than most we had before. The chicken and lamb were nicely seasoned and very juicy. The pallao was perfect – not as oily as some other restaurants.
The place is small and not that many tables, and you have to order first at the kitchen, but service was good.
Also there was barely any parking, and street parking limited, so during busy times might need to search a bit.

Food/Taste/Flavor: 5/5 – ordered Mantoo (5 piece), Chapli Kabob, Chicken Kabob, and Beef Kabob. While they were out of Bakhlava, we were able to try some Firini. The mantoo was interesting as it’s a dumpling covered with a yogu sauce and ground beef seasoning. So while it has a savory aspect, it’s also extremely creamy. Both the chicken and beef kabob were tender and well marinated. We enjoyed the seasoning and spices in the chapli as well. The rice were flavored well and loved the salads. The firini is an Afghan milk pudding that is absolutely creamy with cardamom and rose water. While we enjoyed it, it’s definitely a particular flavor.
Service: 5/5 – very friendly and attentive. Mom and pop store vibe with how welcoming they were.
Ambiance: 5/5 – while it’s a small store with limited seating, it felt very cozy like walking into an Aunty’s house and asked to sit and eat.
Value for price: 5/5 – delicious food, friendly service, and cozy atmosphere. Highly recommended place and we can completely understand why!

We met up with friends from out-of-town to have lunch at Afghan Awasana.
Kaushal was just the sweetest and most hospitable host, made us feel like we were in his home. If you are looking for authentic home-cooked Afghan food, this is definitely the place.
I’ve tried mantoos in many places. Theirs was one of the best I’ve had. Potato and squash bolanis are also very delicious, moist and crispy. I personally prefer the squash over the potato ones.
Lamb, chicken kabobs and the lamb shank – all were worth ordering. Even their hot tea, which also tastes home-brewed.
He also gave us this yogurt dessert that was interesting and totally yummy. The topping mix of pistachio and flowers (I think it’s rose) was amazing to the palate.
The restaurant itself is not very big, but it is clean and we had a wonderful experience. The restroom is outside but unexpectedly nice and clean as well.

This has to be the absolute best Afghan restaurant in the region. Yes, it small and service can be slow, but that’s because everything is being made fresh. It’s also a great place for takeout and super popular when used for catering events. Everything on their menu is delicious, but the squash bolani is incredible and a must for me.
