SO good! One of the best little hidden gems we’ve found! Packed with locals, we knew this must be worth trying. The buffet was amazing. The perfect amount of variety. Salad bar was very fresh with amazing toppings and homemade dressings. Mashed potatoes had the best gravy I’ve ever tasted. The desserts were delicious too. Wonderful friendly service. Amazing fried chicken. Best home cooked food. Well worth getting off the freeway for.

Typical small buffet. Food was reasonably good and warm. Not great. Not hot. Reasonable. The price was a bit high in my opinion though. $15 each seemed high for the limited choices on the buffet. Price did include drink and tax, so that’s a positive. The biggest negative I had with the place was the flies. Flies were buzzing all around, not just a single fly, flies. I know you’re going to have flies in a restaurant, but they seemed excessive to me here.

My visit her was excellent. They had a buffet, and menu items. The hamburgers are pattied up when you order them(not frozen). And it was great. Juicy, and I messed up a bunch of paper towels. Soda was from a can. Service was great. I will be stopping here again. Thanks for the experience.

We stopped here on a road trip. The reviews were great but we did not feel the same. The diner didn’t feel clean. The food was between mediocre and inedible. The fried chicken and sweet tea were okay. How could they not make good cornbread in Georgia? There weren’t very many choices on the buffet. The fried catfish were in small pieces. The booth benches were in bad shape and felt unclean. We would not stop there again. The buffet cost $15 per person.

Wonderful place to eat! I work on the road and I’m always looking for good places to eat at a decent price. This place has quite possibly the best burger I’ve eaten in years! The burgers are never dry, the fries are always cooked just right, and the tea is always sweet! If I’m ever in the area in the future I’ll definitely be coming back here!

If you like down home country cooking this is the place to eat. It is all you can eat buffet style or you can order from the menu. The Sunday we were there the buffet included fried chicken, hamburger steak smothered in brown gravy with a variety of vegetables. The dessert was banana pudding. If you are from Adel be prepared to see family and friends there too.

After seeing how popular this place is for the last ten-ish years, we finally got a chance to try it. The buffet looked and smelled great, but we decided to try menu items. I got a bacon cheeseburger and my boyfriend got the fried steak sandwich. We got a chicken tender kids meal for our 5-year-old. Food came out hot, fast, and delicious. It might have been our first time, but it won’t be our last.

Another awesome “hole in the wall” eating place. Open 1100 – 1400 hrs only. Great food about a mile from I75. Cody is the owner…his grandmother started this place 50 years ago. Home cooking. Fantastic food.

I’ve lived in and around Adel the last 20 years. When friends came from out of town and wanted “country cooking” that I didn’t have to do myself, this is where I took them. A friend from North Carolina walked in with me and was skeptical because the decor was still from 1980, and it’s cooled with window unit A/C’s and always crowded with country people, farmers and workers getting their grub on and talking loud. Everyone knows everyone there.

When she left, she wrote a review of it on Google praising the place as one of the best food places she’s ever eaten.

The fried chicken is the closest thing to my Granny’s fried chicken I’ve ever found. It’s the best thing in the whole restaurant without a doubt. And it seems to be ALWAYS on the buffet so you can get plenty of it.

The sweet tea is EPIC.

Their vegetables are country home veggies, black eyed peas, butterbeans, okra… and their other sides are rice or potatoes. On Sundays they do chicken dressing, and if you don’t know what that is, look it up.

FTR: They do have some salad stuff but most just eat the “real” food.

I liked being able to go in and knowing some of the people eating, and being known by the staff. They always knew what I wanted to drink and where to sit me. I’ve been going here since I was practically a baby myself, and TOTALLY recommend it to others. They’ve changed the decor the past few months, updating their look for the place…but the food and atmosphere are still the same.

It’s a small country place where the food is simple but really good. The people there are as sweet as the sweet tea on your table. I won’t mind going back – at all.
