The food was excellent in taste, temperature, and overall quality. However, charging $5 for only half of a grilled cheese sandwich feels excessive.

The wait time was also longer than expected. I was told there would be a 30-minute delay after placing my order, and while I did receive my food fresh and hot in just under 20 minutes, this is still longer than I typically prefer. The view of the Crowne Centre Mall made the wait more tolerable, but under normal circumstances, it would be too long.

Unfortunately, I was also overcharged for my meal. I originally ordered at the kiosk, but because I require paper receipts for school district reimbursement, I reordered with a cashier. My cashier, Kaci, overcharged me, and the total exceeded $10, which disqualified me from reimbursement. This was disappointing, as I do not appreciate feeling taken advantage of—whether in time or cost. Please see attached photos for details.

My soup was good, but they have no ice at the drink station and continue to sell drinks. No sign, nothing. If you are charging $3.59 for a fountain drink, you better have ice. The workers look miserable and I know it’s not their fault when these things happen. Management needs to do better.

The first time I ate here the week of Thanksgiving, the coffee was cold. All of it. Cold coffee on a winter day in Kansas City is about the last thing you want. To be fair, we arrived shortly before closing–because I never dreamed they’d be closing at 5pm, even on a Sunday. But warm coffee should still be a given.

The second time, last friday in December, was too much. They were out of pastries? The kiosk told us one thing, employees told us another. So I couldn’t get the bread I wanted on my sandwich because the kiosk said they were out, but my boyfriend got that same bread on his sandwich…?

I had to send something back twice and my bag of chips was open at the corner. The people making the food seemed a little lost. The ice machine wasn’t working, but the workers were accommodating about it and this wasn’t their fault.

Horrible service, long wait for food, poor food quality. Had evening event every Monday and stopped in a few times for snack and drink. Saw and heard employees verbally battling a customer from out of town. How embarrassing that this is the experience they get while visiting KC. If the hefty young black man behind the counter 10/27/25, spent more time working and less time being rude to customers, maybe there wouldn’t have been a 45 minute wait for food. Staff always seems put out that customers come in for food. Seems to me that many Crown center restaurant employees in general are not thrilled to be serving customers. Sorry to our visitors, and hope you find more enjoyable experiences in KC.

: Dissatisfaction with Food Quality and Customer Service

I am writing to express my disappointment regarding my recent visit to one of your locations. As a regular customer, I have always appreciated the quality and taste of your food. However, my experience this time was quite unsatisfactory.

I ordered the Pick 2 combo as a to-go meal, and I noticed a significant discrepancy in portion sizes compared to dining in. The items I received were noticeably smaller, which left me feeling dissatisfied and shortchanged. Consistency in portion sizes is crucial, regardless of the dining option chosen.

Furthermore, I must bring attention to the poor customer service I encountered during my visit. The staff seemed rushed and inattentive, failing to provide the usual level of service I have come to expect from Panera Bread. It was disheartening to feel like my order was not given the attention it deserved.

Considering these issues, I would like to request a refund or a credit back for the unsatisfactory experience I had. Alternatively, a coupon for a future visit would also be appreciated as a gesture of goodwill. As a loyal customer, I believe it is essential to address these concerns to ensure that the high standards Panera Bread is known for are maintained.

I value the quality and taste of Panera Bread’s offerings and have always recommended it to friends and family. I sincerely hope this experience was an exception, and I can continue to enjoy the excellence that Panera Bread is renowned for.

Easily the best panera in KC. The food is whatever but the staff is wonderful. They’re so sweet & patient, always friendly & willing to help & even when they’re slammed with orders everything comes out well made & on time

Upon asking for the chili bowl after seeing a picture of bread bowl full of chili advertised, I got a ceramic bowl of chili with a chunk of bread on the side. Upon asking for iced coffee, that’s exactly what I got. Black coffee topped with ice. Apparently the customer has to find everything, including the iced coffee that’s unclearly marked on paper taped to the drink counter on other end of restaurant. I had to ask where everything was, including my bread bowl. “You have to ask for that”. I did. Anyway, not worth the $14 for what I could have gotten from a grocery store for way less with leftovers. It was tasty, but too small for the price. Best part was time with my girls in the city.

Disappointing Experience

I am a regular customer at Panera Bread and have generally had positive experiences in the past. However, I had an unfortunate incident with my most recent order that I feel compelled to share.

I ordered a meatless sandwich and a separate tuna salad. Regrettably, the tuna was mistakenly added to my meatless sandwich, making it inedible for me. This was particularly disappointing as I had been looking forward to my meal and it was a clear mix-up in the preparation.

I understand that mistakes can happen, especially during busy hours, but I believe this could have been avoided with a bit more attention to detail. I would appreciate it if the staff could be more careful in the future to ensure that all customer orders are prepared correctly.

I value the quality and service at Panera Bread, and I hope that providing this feedback will contribute to improving the customer experience. I would also appreciate it if you could address this issue and ensure it does not happen again in the future.
