Restaurant Amano Prague – an exceptional gastronomic experience

Restaurant Amano in Prague is exactly the kind of place you visit with high expectations – and leave even more impressed. From the very first moment, it’s clear this is not an ordinary restaurant, but a well-thought-out gastronomic concept with a strong identity. The modern, elegant interior creates a welcoming atmosphere, perfect for a romantic dinner, a business meeting, or a refined culinary experience in the heart of Prague.

The food is absolutely outstanding. The veal tartare with polenta and chanterelle mushrooms set the bar high right from the start. The combination of quail and lobster showcased exceptional work with flavors and textures. The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the spaghetti with Gambero Rosso prawns and stracciatella di burrata – perfectly balanced, delicate yet full of flavor. Equally impressive was the sea bass fillet stuffed with shrimp and cuttlefish, complemented by caramelized miso.

The almond tiramisu was the perfect finale – light, not overly sweet, and elegantly flavored.

Special praise goes to the service: professional, natural, and attentive staff who know how to recommend wine and create a true dining experience, not just provide service.

The head waiter/ manager was very unpleasant men. His staring was rude and talking was arrogant. After such attitude we did not want to order anything else… Normally I order more, but after talking to that guy it felt like we are not welcomed there. I guess since we are not Czech. Luckily the other waiter was much better. Half of time our table was served by that head waiter/ manager, it left bad impression about this restaurant so we dont want to visit this restaurant ever again.

We did not order much, but what we ordered we did not like at all. Grill Vegetables were basically burned. Mushrooms with cheese were not tasty a well.

Overpriced.

We dined here for the first time witb my wife. We had high expectations from the place after hearing about it. But oh boy it over delivered in every aspect of the evening. The service was warm and welcoming, friendly but professional. The food was exceptional, dish of the night was the monkfish with burnt leek and caviar. The textures are playful, flavours are subtle and clean. I wanna thank again to Tomas for the wanderful service last night he made the entire evening even more pleasent.

Had an amazing tasting menu at New Year’s Eve. Every course was tremendously paired well with wine. Dishes were thoughtful, flavorful and came with a powerful presentation.

We had a reservation for 4 people, we arrived at 8:30 and we the main dishes came around 9:50. The food was good and the atmosphere was decent but the service was very slow.

The best steak and beef tartar I have EVER had. I grew up in Iowa so know good beef and Amano serves really good beef and prepares it perfectly. In addition they served about the best gluten free bread ever with butter or beef tallow which was delicious.

Well priced for quality of service and food. Our waiter Dominik made us feel as though we were his only customer.

An incredibly delicious place! The white truffle pasta was outstanding — you absolutely have to try it. The service is amazing, and the dishes come out super fast. I also want to highlight our waiter, Thomas — he’s the best of the best! This level of service truly deserves a reward from management. Thomas won me over with his professionalism, friendliness, attention to detail, and speed. I’ll definitely be coming back!

We arrived at the restaurant at 7:50 PM and received our food at 9:15 PM. The portions were very small. The waiter forgot the lemonade we ordered, and there was a chipped oil bottle on the table, which didn’t feel acceptable.

The food itself is very much an acquired taste. People around us were just sitting and looking at each other with hungry eyes while waiting.

My soup was served about 30 minutes earlier than the rest of the dishes for our table. When I asked why, the waiter said he had asked about the order of serving, but it became clear that he meant the order between soup and the main course, not the serving order for the table.

To be fair, the soup and the forgotten lemonade were not charged, which is honest, but it didn’t fix the overall situation.

Overall, the experience was disappointing and poorly organized.

If you love Italian cuisine and are looking for a special place to have dinner in Prague, you must dine at Amano.
Alongside the excellent food, they pay attention to every little detail, which truly enhances the experience. The atmosphere is simply elegant.
We tried everything from risotto to fresh pasta and steak—each dish was absolutely delicious.
We had an excellent dinner that felt like a true feast. To top it all off, we ended the night with a very special grappa that completed the meal perfectly.

The food is excellent, but it’s not cheap. So if you don’t mind spending a bit more or want to enjoy a steak that’s truly worth the money, I can highly recommend this place.
