I ate here with my team of 7 from work. You place your order at the counter… the desserts are so pretty you want to try all of them. In the picture is the cannoli, red velvet cake, and lemon tart. They hand you your dessert while your food is being prepared. I ordered the pastrami sandwich with potato soup… I have no regrets. They were amazing! My coworker ordered the potato pie and French onion soup. The potato pie is pictured for those curious. It is very good and reminds me of a loaded bake potato with sour cream, chives, and bacon. The service was excellent and attentive.

This place is a local institution, which means both that they have a very loyal clientele (mostly folks 55+, by my observations) and that they haven’t changed the decor or menu in probably decades — personally, I find the garish linoleum table cloths and badly faded painting reproductions more sad than cozy, but there is a kind of charm to them — it’s a call back to what Americans used to think “exotic” and “French” should look like. The French pastries are consistently excellent — I highly recommend those. The rest of the menu, however, is underwhelming and surprisingly unfriendly to vegetarians or vegans — last time I was there, for example, I was told that ALL the soups (even the cold yogurt soup???) had a chicken stock base, which seems really unnecessary given how easy it is to make a lentil soup or a tomato bisque vegetarian and even vegan.

Lunch at La Galette is always an amazing experience! My friend and I both had ham and swiss sandwiches on croissants with soup and they were delicious! Of course, we had to get dessert… tiramisu and strawberry cake!

I’ve ordered from this place on DoorDash a couple times and it was so delicious that I just had to try in person. Went in with my wife on Saturday morning, and we had the seafood quiche and the ham sandwich on croissant. We also ordered a couple pastries, which we expect will be absolutely delicious!

One of my al time favorites! Great soup, salads, sandwiches, and the best sweets. I’ve had them cater a long while ago, not overpriced like others, they even make cakes for any reason you want. Favorite CREAM of tomato soup!!
1/6/21 still amazing. Great people and awesome food. The best dessert selection in town. Sadly the founder passed away and they are currently closed. So I would call first!
