Wonderful experience!! Celebrating my birthday I choose Sakura for my dinner. Have not done hibachi style eating in a long time.

What a treat!!! Chose the steak and chicken combo. They first serve you soup and salad. soup was a bit bland but good. Salad dressing was delicious.

They then serve you fried rice and noodles . Plus stir fried veggies. A few shrimps were also included. Next is the meat. All were delicious and if course entertaining to watch it being prepared. Had a Japanese beer . Very good as well.

Also tried the fried ice cream . Very good too.

Overall, it was a great experience. Got a little confused with the entrance as we came from a different direction and wound up on the backend of the restaurant, but parking was fine. The place was very busy as it was Father’s day. We made a reservation in advance for hibachi. It was myself, my husband, and two boys ages 7 and 9. The kids loved watching the cooks do tricks. The staff was friendly and attentive. We only had a soft drink, but the drinks we saw looked good. The food was yummy and everyone left satisfied. I was surprised they gave rice and noodles. The only thing I was a little annoyed with was that it came with only white rice and you had to pay $5 more for fried rice. I thought that should have been included, but it didn’t bother me that much. Definitely recommend and would go back again!!

The woman who was “in charge” of the restaurant at the front desk was incredibly rude. We booked a dinner party for my husbands birthday and we were so rushed for the amount of $ we spent. Incredibly rude woman, none of us will be returning, ever. Shame on that woman. For a $600 dinner you’d think she’d be a little bit kinder. Place looks dark and dingy, not like I remember. Gross. At least the hibachi chef was pleasant!

Food had no flavor , first time in my hundreds of hibachi meals that I left not eating my entire meal. Drinks were not good at all. The hibachi cook was not friendly and had a problem when I asked for no veggies.
Place is small , packed and beyond over stimulating with the noise and close quarters.
I’m not hard to please but this one was rough for me .
I will say 10 stars to the friendly attentive bigger gentleman (host?), he was wonderful!

Place is very busy so we had hibachi one night with the kids and grabbed takeout another time. Everything was great. Food was perfect. Only thing I’d say is hibachi seemed rushed, but they’re very busy lol. Other than that, great.

First time having dinner there, after driving by it for many years.
First, the good – dumplings and shumai were very good! Martini from the bar was great. The Tokyo curry was pretty good, I wish they did it with regular grilled shrimp instead of breaded shrimp, nevertheless the curry was pretty good.
Now the not so good, it was a Saturday night and the noise level in there was almost unbearable – mostly young kids having a birthday party, so thatś ok but it was crazy loud!
Ive seen some very positive reviews for the food here but I was very disappointed in the Chirashi I ordered – the quality of the fish was sub-par. Raw fish like that should never have sinew in it, thatś the whole point. Not sure but I think they use that tuna thatś died red, it looked fake. The salmon was mushy, although some of the yellowtail and pieces were fresh and finally one of the pieces was not fresh at all very gamey – the taste was so bad I could not finish the dish. I would reccommend you don´t get the raw fish there- probably my fault for not ordering the Hibachi which is probably the best thing in the place.

We had a great experience at this restaurant. Remarkable cooking techniques and precise doneness with vegetables and seafood; Now, the “show” itself, was very well executed by the Chef/ cook and very much interactive with the group of 10 ppl that we were.
I will definitely come back !

I’ve been coming here for over 20 years, celebrated most of my 13 year old’s birthdays and my birthdays here for hibachi. And this time he chose Sakura again and wanted to invite 7 of his school friends, it was 10 of us in total last night. I told the hostess that l wanted kids meals for the kids since l know how much food is served and 12 and 13 year olds wont eat it all and wont want to take it home, they are there for the experience. The hostess said: no, they are over 12 years, they have to get adult size hibachi.

A 13 year old, or an adult should be allowed to order a kids size hibachi simply because it’s a smaller portion. Sad that this lady only cared about making more money and not about the pounds of food that was going to be thrown in the garbage. I left very disappointed last night for the first time in over 20 years, payed over $500 and all the food was wasted, l hate to waste food and this could have been avoided. Sadly, I dont think my family and l will come back here again, this place has lost its magic.
On the good side, our waiter Steven was kind and friendly.

Years ago, I’d have given this place a 5 and called it the best hibachi in Connecticut. It’s gone kind of downhill since then or maybe I just caught them on a bad night. Steak was over cooked, lobster was over cooked, vegetables were undercooked. The scallops were delicious and they really need to get bigger glasses for their water and soda. The sushi was really good, I highly recommend the firecracker special one. The fried chicken was ok but the mustard that comes with it is more onion than mustard. Then we ended the meal with the “famous” fried ice cream where somehow the fried part was colder than the ice cream. Don’t even know how that was possible.
