Fresh is always best! Hand made burger patties, handmade sauces…handmade everything! Full disclosure, we do not make bread or ketchup. We had to stop somehwere 😉 Everything else is our own! And we have something for everyone. From Florida? The Cubano will truly make your mouth water. Love fried Catfish? The Cajun Cornmeal Crusted Catfish sandwich will be your go-to! Sushi Fan? Ahi Poke Tacos are a hit! Sauces? Yes. Spicy kinda gal or guy? Definitely. Vegetarian, vegan or gluten free? More than you may believe! Food is our specialty! Stopped in for lunch and we were seated promptly and greeted by our waitress. We had iced tea and our waitress suggested several favorites for lunch. I had the burger and fries and my wife had the Korean Steak Bowl. Everything was delicious and we enjoyed the meal.

We came in at 5:55 pm on a Friday night. Party of 5 women.
We stood at the hostess station for 5- 10 minutes before making our way to a table before we were told to go back to the hostess station and wait. We explained that we didn’t understand we were supposed to continue to wait because no one showed up at the station to seat us and 2 other parties were waiting as well.
We were then seated at a four top but managed to switch tables with a party of 3 to a more appropriate sized table.
Our wonderful server Erica was quick to the table, great with the service and personality. That’s the only good part of the whole experience.
Cocktails came moderately quickly and were delicious. Two of us had soup and salad, another ordered fish and chips , one had the chicken sandwich and one had the hot dogs plate with sweet potatoes.
The salads came out within a few minutes and the soup came out with in ten minutes after that. It was an hour before the rest of the meal came out. Erica explain to us that there was a large party in the back. We were never informed that it would be a lengthy wait time for our food or we would have gone somewhere else, one of our party is 85 and needs to eat timely.
When the food arrived at 7:20 (We arrived at 5:55) It was hot and flavorful. The portions were large and honestly, there were no complaints with the food other than the timing and appropriateness of the delivery to the table.
Erica was extremely apologetic , and it was heartfelt. She stated she spoke with a manager who could offer us free dessert. I also spoke with a female supervisor/manager trying to get an understanding of where the errors took place because this place had good reviews. She apologized and said that she hoped we would try this establishment again but her response to this review says different (I posted a screenshot of her response to my review).
Not bad for a $160 bar meal.

We visited for lunch on a Sunday and was very busy and took a while to get a table. Food was very good and served hot. I had the chicken tinga tacos. The truffle fries were awesome.

After carefully reading the reviews, we called about a month ahead of time to make a reservation for our family of 9. Not all places take reservations so we were excited to have this in place. We ordered all kinds of things from the menu. The drinks, tacos and burgers were excellent. We have picky family members and they gave it great reviews too. No problem on the gluten free request either. Paige was our server and she was exceptional. Very attentive, made great suggestions and brought our food out with no issues. At the end if our dinner, we went outside where Paige took this picture for us. Thanks for having us. We really enjoyed the food, the staff and our visit!

My wife and I are not young anymore.We often share meals when we go out or buy smaller portions. For lunch today I chose their steak bites / Asian dipping sauce with coleslaw. It was fantastic! My wife had the fish and chips (fries) and thought it was great eat! It’s on our list for future trips ✨️

Rivers and Rails is more tavern oriented than restaurant. That said, they do have a small dining area separate from the bar area. The food was tasty and well prepared, not special but a solid meal at a reasonable price. Fish tacos were excellent; jambalaya was good but flavor was not remarkable. Service was good; all students from the nearby WCU. Bathroom (unisex) and dining area were clean.

A yummy but understaffed tavern. Food was pretty good given what was expected. Definitely gave the bar or tavern style. The service was as good as could be expected seeing there were one 3 servers.

I stopped here this afternoon for lunch. When I walked in the door, someone greeted me. When I told her I wanted to order takeout she directed me through the swinging saloon doors. I waited a good five minutes before someone took my order. I ordered the Cubano with French fries. My sandwich was very flavorful with roasted pork, ham, cheese and pickles. My only complaint was that it was in the sandwich press too long which made the bread hard and a little burned. The fries were okay, but I wish I had chose a different side.

I just wanted to share how AMAZING the team at Rivers n Rails was last night. I’d made a 6pm reservation earlier in the week because I was taking my staff, interns, and volunteers from work out for Lights & Luminaries. RnR was absolutely packed, but the team handled the rush with so much professionalism and calm. I even saw someone come in and yell about not being seated, despite the hostess clearly trying to call them twice with no answer. She handled it with grace. My party of 11 was seated quickly and treated wonderfully. Our food came out fast, correct, and hot. Everything was perfect. Folks in the restaurant industry don’t always get the praise they truly deserve, but the RnR team was phenomenal, as always. Thank you for making our night special.
