When I reached the counter, the rice had just run out and I was told it would be about a 15-minute wait. That was perfectly fine, so I sat down and waited patiently while several other customers chose to leave.
When the rice was finally ready, a group of customers walked in and I was told to get in line behind them — even though the employee acknowledged that I had been waiting in the restaurant the entire time. When I explained that I had already waited and didn’t feel it was fair to go behind people who had just arrived, the employee (a tall heavy set man with long black hair pulled into a ponytail with black frame glasses) dismissed me and walked away. He then instructed another worker to begin serving the customers behind me.
The patron that he was telling me to get behind actually had to speak up and point out that I had been waiting before her and the employee finally took my order.
The original worker who dismissed me was visibly upset that I was being served and walked out of the restaurant.
I come to this location several times a month because it’s one of my favorite places to eat after working out and I normally receive great service. Unfortunately, this interaction was dismissive, embarrassing, and completely unnecessary.
I hope management reviews this situation, because no customer who waits patiently should be treated this way. I could have left and took my business elsewhere like the other dozen people.
I got in, saw the place for takeout food empty. OK I’ll wait for my food to be done.
– Is this the place to pick up takeout?
– Yes
– Thank you
I proceed to wait 15 minutes with no food being placed there. I approach them again.
– I see you’re busy, but when can I expect my food to be done?
– What’s your name? Oh, it’s been sitting here for 15 minutes. Enjoy your cold food lol
– …
– People steal food, we don’t put it here anymore
If there’s only something you could do about people stealing and not pissing off your customers instead.
So yes. Low rating for this store is not because of the food. It is, indeed, because of people.
I feel all chipotle are like this.
The location is pretty straightforward, no frills.
I ordered a salad with chicken and my daughter ordered a steak burrito. Salad was decent, my daughter doesn’t have much of a spice tolerance so she didn’t really enjoy the steak burrito.
I thought it was interesting how they had the location setup, right as you walk in you see the soda fountains. I definitely would have designed the store differently to have a better flow.
I then spoke to the manager and even showed her the rice, asking her to touch and feel it herself. She admitted that the rice was not fully cooked, yet immediately became defensive and said, “The machine cooks the rice, not us,” which is not an acceptable response. Responsibility still lies with the restaurant to serve properly cooked food.
The attitude from both the staff and the manager was arrogant, dismissive, and unprofessional. No apology, no attempt to fix the issue—just blame shifting.
This location consistently serves undercooked rice, and today’s behavior was the worst I’ve experienced. Customer feedback should be taken seriously, not brushed off with arrogance. I will not be returning
I call the restaurant to let them know because in an ideal world they would care about food safety and check the lettuce to make sure no other customers have to suffer my fate. But after an infuriating call with a bot they just direct me to their online chat bot to repeat the same song and dance, only this time it’s over text instead of on the phone.
After wasting 15 minutes of my life, the bot takes my complaint and ends the chat without giving me the option to ever talk to a real person about my concerns. I know they noted down my complaint in their system, but I’m sure that it is lost in a sea of complaints about their mid food and miniscule portion sizes. I do not have hope that anyone at the restaurant will even see my ticket before the contaminated lettuce batch has been served to other unlucky customers.
To be honest I don’t care that much about getting a refund or a replacement, fly-free meal from chipotle. I just wanted someone at the restaurant to check their lettuce to make sure it is cleaned properly. If chipotle had better customer service I could be reassured that this fly was an anomaly and that the restaurant would do their best to make sure that this mistake never happened again. But chipotle’s complete and utter disregard for customer complaints makes me wonder if it’s worth ever eating there knowing that there’s always a risk of finding insects in your meal.
TLDR don’t eat here unless you’re willing to play russian roulette and risk finding dead flies in your food
