Was well worth the wait for a reservation to open up. We went to celebrate a birthday the day after Christmas and this was a lovely birthday dinner. Our host, Eric, made a wonderful meal an even lovelier experience with his knowledge, humor, and story telling. The ambience was cozy and homey. You could see the pasta being made if you’re seated near the bar. We ended up being way too full once the night was finished since we had the Menu Degustazione experience. Most tasting menus, you’ll often leave feeling a little bit hungry after. This tasting menu, we ended up having to box things to go! As Eric said, this was like… being hosted into an Italian family’s home that is trying to impress you through your stomach.

like the reviews mentioned, the butter sage pasta was out of this world. appetizers were good but definitely was outshoned by the pasta. we also had a fried chicken main dish that was also very good. service was impeccable and attentive. intimate, romantic vibe. reservations needed for 2+ people; if you’re heading in solo you’re more likely to snag a seat at the bar.

My boyfriend took me to this restaurant for a late Valentine’s Day dinner celebration. We had been wanting to try it for a while, and luckily he was able to score a reservation.

Upon entering the restaurant, we were led to our table by the host, who was very kind and showed us where the bathrooms were located and where we could hang our coats. The whole ambiance was nice and cozy, and the staff seemed very attentive.

When we were given the menu, I’m not going to lie, it looked very overwhelming. But after overhearing a server explain the menu to an equally confused couple, my boyfriend and I understood how to approach it.

We ended up getting a couple of Negroni cocktails, the Cipollini Ripieni, and two of the pastas our server recommended, half Tajarin con Burro e Salvia and half Tajarin al Ragù. For our secondi, we ordered the Guancia di Manzo Brasata al Barolo.

Everything came out in a timely manner and was absolutely delicious. The portions were perfect for the two of us. We especially loved how juicy the Cipollini Ripieni was. The pastas were also our favorites. We were thankful to have ordered half portions of each because we were already getting full before our last dish arrived. The pasta was so good, we loved the texture, and it’s amazing that it’s all made in house. From where we were sitting, we could partially see the chefs cooking, which was very cool. We loved the intimate dining experience.

Our secondi was possibly my all time favorite dish of the night. The Guancia di Manzo Brasata al Barolo was so tender, it melted in your mouth. The purée was delicious, and the pomegranates complemented the flavors beautifully.

As full as we were from all the delicious food, we still made a little room for dessert because we wanted to make sure their desserts were just as good as their savory dishes. We were debating between two options but ultimately chose the Pera Millefoglie. When the server brought our dessert, she also surprised us with the Zuppa Inglese con Mele we had been considering. She was so sweet and said it was on the house because she knew we were stuck between the two and wanted us to experience both. The desserts were amazing. We thoroughly enjoyed the creaminess and sweetness of each.

Not only was the food an incredible experience, but we are also thankful for our server for being so attentive, as well as the other staff who promptly cleared our plates. Our water glasses were always refilled, and the table was quickly cleaned after each course.

This experience was absolutely worth it. I can see why reservations are hard to get. This was possibly the best dining experience I have had in a while. We will definitely be back.

I love this place. Each time I have come has been a 1,000/10. The details matter and this place does it without being pretentious. The service is warm, friendly and familiar. We sat at the bar with Alfredo and he really went above and beyond to ensure an immaculate service. The teamwork was out of this world, everyone was always listening to what was going on and were eager to help each other to make a seamless guest experience. I asked for en espresso martini, he told me the specs and asked if it was okay. I requested creme de cacao and even though he didn’t have it on his back bar he knew their sister restaurant next door did and went and got it. I haven’t had an experience like this in a long time. Spinasse captures the heart of what hospitality is, making memories and creating something that makes people want to come back.

I visit Seattle a few times a year and have this place marked as “DELICIOUS” on my bookmarks. I enjoy coming to Spinasse during my visits and always eager to see what’s on the rotating seasonal menu. I always put my name down and walk around the neighborhood because there will definitely be a wait even at the bar. It is well worth it and lots to do in Cap Hill. I was especially in love with the sage butter pasta this last visit and I would loved to be thrown in a tub of the chamomile panna cotta, it was rich, creamy and so flavorful. A must visit in Seattle and the staff is friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. I also left a bag there during my last visit and they called me to let me know. They’re attentive and very sweet!

I’ve eaten lots and lots of pasta in Seattle and this has been my favorite Spinasse thus far.the service was exceptional, with our waiter giving insight into each of the menu items and providing great suggestions as to how we could best enjoy our meal. The food was phenomenal, my partner and I decided to go with some appetizers and a few smaller plates of pasta to allow us to try as much as possible. Great spot for a date, dinner with friends, or perhaps a place to reward yourself with a nice dinner.

I would get this place get Seattle’s first Michelin star, from the excellent service, to the pit of this world cuisine, you cannot go wrong at Spinasse. I highly recommend the tasting menu. The handmade pasta with butter and sage was so delicious and complex, it blew my mind there were only 3 ingredients, the ragu was out of this world, literally every dish I tasted made me want to exclaim ” Oh My Gosh! “. Do yourself a favor and go get the experience of a lifetime. And to the staff at Spinasse, Thank you thank you thank you! You made my wife’s birthday one she will never forget!

My partner and I dined out for my birthday, and had a wonderful experience. Our server, “Lucky G” made the night so special; they were decidedly warm and welcoming. They created a night we will always remember, and pointed us in the right direction of their favorite dishes. They anticipated our needs before we asked. Everything was delicious, and the Cipollini Ripieni were truly to die for.

Overall an enjoyable experience with pasta being the highlight. Very light and delicate pasta noodles paired with simple but flavorful sauce and lots of high quality shaved parmesan. Not something you can easily find elsewhere.

Pasta magic that’s worth every waitlist — just bring a little more warmth to the welcome.

After seeing Spinasse trending on Google Maps, I tried to go three different times—and each time they were fully booked! On OpenTable, you’ll often only find 9:30 PM slots for the week ahead, so if you want this pasta, plan early.

When I finally got in (by lucky accident), I understood the buzz. The dining room is cozy and elegant, with white tablecloths, soft lighting, and the kind of quiet energy that says, “this is serious pasta.” I was relieved to find there’s extra seating around the corner, which gives the space a bit more breathing room while keeping the charm intact.

We skipped appetizers, but the kitchen surprised us with a crostini topped with creamy brie and shaved radish—simple, refined, and delicious. I ordered the housemade pasta with rib ragù, and let’s just say… this is what handmade should taste like. The noodles were silky and light, the sauce slow-cooked perfection, and the meat tender enough to melt your worries away.

The beet and chicory salad was crisp and refreshing—balanced and earthy in all the right ways. Portions are elegant, not oversized, which I loved; it’s the kind of meal that satisfies your senses, not just your appetite.

Service could use a bit more sparkle. Our waiter was kind but lacked enthusiasm, and the hostess’ cool demeanor set a slightly detached tone. A little more excitement in storytelling—about the chef, the process, the passion—would elevate the whole experience to match the excellence of the food.

Still, Spinasse is a must for pasta lovers. With a bit more warmth in the service, it could easily hit that fifth star.

Pro tip: Reserve early, skip the rush, and savor slow-made pasta that feels like a love letter to Italy.
