Unfortunately, the rest of the experience completely changed the tone of the night.
We ordered the cauliflower crust pizza because my friend had raved about it, but it came out really disappointing. The crust tasted like a burnt cracker, the bottom was overdone, and the sauce and cheese were pretty flavorless. After attempting a bite, we both knew we weren’t going to eat it.
When we politely asked to see the menu to switch it for something else, our server became hesitant and walked over to the bar to talk about us — within clear view and earshot. That alone was uncomfortable. She then came back to clear the table, handed us a menu, and proceeded to argue with me about the pizza instead of simply acknowledging our concern.
As two people who have both worked in the food industry, we would never treat guests that way. It made the situation unnecessarily awkward and completely killed my appetite. We still tipped appropriately, but the experience was honestly disappointing.
It’s frustrating because the atmosphere, drinks, and wings were great — but the unprofessional service and how the situation was handled overshadowed everything.
The drinks had a good pour while, the French Onion Soup tasty and pretty good. Surprisingly the Flounder sandwich was actually fresh flounder and very good l. Fries were well cooked.
Prices were comparable. Parking is on the street which are enforced and monitored.
They do have outdoor seating and live music.
A friend ordered a glass of wine, noticeably a bad, short pour … the manager came over with a measuring cup, adamantly arguing the original pour was accurate only to prove himself wrong by measuring out a 4 oz pour right at our table, 2 oz short – yes, they eventually gave her a healthier pour. Instead of defusing the situation, giving the customer a healthy pour at the onset, the manager argued more and escalated the situation, never offering an apology … it was a very uncomfortable moment. And to top it off, later that even the same customer was overcharged by three drinks, which brought over again both the manager and owner, with more unnecessary arguments, for which they threaten to call the police is she didn’t pay. Waitress Audrey was awsome, food was good, band was cool, we had a great time, but management should conduct themselves more professional and realize their local patrons support them, and they need to learn how to resolve a situation efficiently.
We paid in cash and when the server came back, she had no idea how much she owed us in change. She was like “okay so you owed $52 but you gave us $68… how much do i owe you?” and I legit had pull out my calculator app and do the math for her. The fact that she couldn’t do basic math to calculate how much change to give is ridiculous. I don’t think I’ll be back here.
