Visited during our Scotland trip and went back two days in a row for dinner with family. The restaurant has a very pleasant atmosphere, clean, calm, and quiet. The service was excellent, and the food was fresh, delicious, and authentically South Indian. The staff were extremely friendly and proactive, making us feel very welcome. Overall, a great dining experience. The only minor downside is that parking nearby can be a bit difficult to find.

I had a really good experience at Taste of Chennai. The food was very tasty and felt truly authentic, just like home-style South Indian cooking. Everything was fresh, well-cooked, and full of flavour.

The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the service was quick. Portions were good and prices were reasonable. Overall, I really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. I would definitely recommend this place and will visit again.

Went here to catch up with a friend. Best decision ever. The filter coffee was soooooo good. I had the idli sambhar which was amazing but had to steal some chutney from my friends thali lol. The dosa was delicious too. Overall a nice experience and the taste is genuinely authentic.

I had an amazing experience from start to finish. I started with the chicken lollipop and Chettinadu chicken soup both were incredibly flavorful and hit the spot. The dipped vada with sambar was also good, though I wish it was a bit more soaked to really soak up all the flavors.

For the main course, the Mysore masala dosa stood out as the best it was fully coated with spicy masala and perfectly balanced, not sweet at all. The chicken kothu parotta was absolutely delicious, packed with bold spices and textures. I also tried the classic parotta with a side of chicken Chettinadu curry, and it did not disappoint. Every bite was rich and satisfying.

To wrap up the meal, I had buttermilk, which came with refreshing ginger bits in every sip, and a glass of rose milk that instantly took me back to my childhood days.

Every dish I tried was full of flavor and definitely a place I’d love to visit again!

The food was very good, and the staff were excellent and very friendly. Unfortunately, our experience was spoiled when a person was smoking outside and then came back in, filling the restaurant with cigarette smell. It made it very uncomfortable to sit and enjoy our meal. Sadly, it appeared to be the owner or a partner of the restaurant, which was quite disappointing.

This was my second visit and I really enjoyed it. The soup and lamb chops were excellent, with a genuinely authentic taste. The lamb chops were actually better than the ones at Rishis.

The Food
Seemed to be freshly made ,spice just right,
Flavour just right ,
The king prawns were fat
And smashing
The Lamb pepper curry laced with black pepper was so south indian that I thought I was back in Bangalore. All in all one of the best South indian eating establishments in Glasgow
So this is a Friday night around 6.30 and the place has only one other paying customer, we had the restaurant to ourselves, that was just amazing for as it was a birthday treat by my wife
Advice to the manager , hope you don’t mind me saying, drop the old whiney indian music and get some contemporary indian music thru the speakers , also the staff , all the staff were men .
How about some pretty south indian girls as waiters too with highly coloured Kurtas, ,,,,, smiling girls
Led candles on the tables
Dim the main lights down
down
Lighting creates an atmosphere just by itself
How about a happy hour a discounted period of time
What about a man on the door inviting passing footfall to the culinary delights of South india
Inundate social media with pics
Get all your staff to like and add to social media

Now one small complaint the draught beer I watched the waiter pour the beer into the glass , he constantly shook the glass as it filled up , it looked good as it was placed in front of my , but went flat very quickly
quickly……. get training on how to pour a proper pint , that’s a skill in itself
Adjust the gas so that it’s more aireated

Amazing food
food
So much potential

Am from Chennai and I honestly can say that the chefs in the restraunt really do know to do justice to the restraunts name! The biriyani and fish Kari virundhu showed authentic pakka Chennai taste which I haven’t tasted in the UK and the front of house staff was so professional and kind !!! I really felt like giving my 2 minutes and doing the review even though nobody asked for!! Keep it up guys !! Love your food!!

We often visits this place, you will never go wrong with food selection. You have multiple cuisine menu even though the restaurant is branded as South Indian. The food quality is good, little oily but once a while it is ok. Ambiance is awesome and relaxing. Location is great as it located on most famous street on Glasgow. Spacious seating and comfortable too. Bathrooms are well maintenance. Service is also amazing, go on quieter times and you will have best time over there. Enjoy.
