A historic diner in the San Fernando Valley that gives you typical American diner vibes inside with its decor.

Its menu also looks really good and has a wide variety.

All the plates looked really big so we wanted to try something savory and sweet and share. We tried the club sandwich and the French toast. Highly recommend. Prices are good too!

My friend wanted to come here to grab breakfast. I was lucky to find parking right in the front of the place because parking is limited here. We got seated quick near the counter seating area. This restaurant will remind you of those old school diner.

My friend went with their breakfast plate while I got their club sandwich with fries. My wife wanted the Primavera omelette so I ordered that to go for her. My friend got coffee for his drink and I asked for a coke.

Our food didn’t take long to come out but the waitress forgot my drink so I had to remind her. The breakfast gives you a good portion and the club sandwich was good. The service wasn’t too bad either. This place does charge a fee if you pay with a card so just be aware.

Food was yummy, staff was very nice! It was our first time there, wait time was not too bad. It was probably less than 10 min. Many brunch locations offer no alternative to pork sausage/patties/bacon but this establishment did and was able to accommodate my dietary restrictions. The portions were really big so I honestly think we could’ve split our meals, but the food is worth the prices. Looking forward to going back!

The oldest restaurant in San Fernando and an absolute gem! A perfect blend of tradition and excellent food at fair prices. The authentic dishes are a true delight, and the friendly staff make the experience even better. Whether it’s breakfast, lunch, or dinner – everything tastes amazing. A must-visit for anyone who appreciates great food and a wonderful atmosphere. Highly recommended!

This place never disappoints for breakfast. The menu has so many options, yet I always come back to my favorite, the country fried steak with eggs. Truly satisfying every time!

The atmosphere was relaxing. My entire family enjoyed the food. The portion was big. We too left overs home. Staff was helpful. When we paid, some of the money was stuck together, and the cashier went to find us to return the extra cash.

A decent diner in the far North of the valley. I am giving it three stars because the food quality and taste is nowhere near as good of some local competition Like Hill Street, Bob’s, Paty’s, or Red Maple. Our server was extremely polite and we were able to be seated right when we arrived and the food items came out very quickly so that part of our meal was great. They have a small free parking lot attached but it is quite cramped and there was only one space available when we arrived for a 10:30 Sunday brunch. Pricing is fair, but from what everyone was ordering around us, I feel that their specialty is Mexican breakfast which I am also a huge fan of, but that’s something to be aware before visiting. Inside is quite large with plenty of booth and counter seating.

They have a fairly large menu that is filled with all sorts of classics but again I feel that their specialty is Mexican. I usually order the Eggs Benedict, but decided to mix it up for this breakfast and chose the Pancho Villa Scramble and added avocado and upgraded to Texas toast. In comparison to the scramble I had the day before it was not nearly as good. The onions and peppers were not cooked, and the potatoes were also quite large in square shape and also hardly cooked so it kind of clashed with the eggs. It wasn’t terrible, but I honestly did not enjoy it and would definitely not recommend or order again.

Overall, I think there are much better locations in the valley and I don’t plan to be back in the future, although our service was great.

Clean, beautiful, friendly, …and delicious food.
James’ Restaurant is a step back in time, but not as a kitschy homage to diners — rather as a diner still doing things right, nearly 70 years later. The menu is large, and varied. The food is cooked and presented with obvious care, and the service is cheerful.
You get to pay at the counter, with a real, fully functional cash register if you use cash (do it!).
Parking is free, with more around the back.

Great coffee shop with a classic era atmosphere. Menu has a wide variety of reasonably priced food choices and the staff are friendly and attentive. A local favorite of the San Fernando PD, so you know it’s gotta be good!
