I always enjoy this place, the service is always top notch, the atmosphere is very good, the food is always excellent. We do find the talking around us to not be quite, that’s the only drawback, but in a very busy place that is to be expected. If you close the doors and do not see the outside, you could be in Singapore or Hong Kong. What a delight it is to be here

All the food was delicious and suited our family’s taste. I tried the sea cucumber dish for the first time and could taste the soft sea cucumber. The lobster dish was also delicious. The shrimp fried rice was generous and tasty. The taste was good and the price was reasonable.

This review is for hosting a WEDDING banquet at Happy Harbor in Rowland Heights.

I helped plan a wedding here. I have to say it was tough at first because they do not have a designated event coordinator. There was a lot of back and forth. What was really helpful was the main guy spoke English, Cantonese, and Mandarin!

Ultimately you need the wedding date and the number of guests. You choose the menu, napkin color, and table cloth color.
Extras: They had two microphones with stands and a small stage for the sweetheart table. The audio system only reached the main room. There was a big screen in the main room to play a slideshow. The backroom seemed to have their own audio and two screens. We could not figure out how to connect the two, so the guests in the back room had to come out to the main room to see/hear what was going on.
-The lobby is large. Good to set up welcome table.
-There is a small private room behind the fish tanks. This was where vendors took their breaks.

The wedding I helped plan had just under 280 guests, so they took up the main room (20 tables) as well as the back room (7 tables). Some tables had 11 seats but same amount of food. Because of the number of tables, there was no dance floor.

I heard compliments from many guests that the servers were efficient and helpful. They served wine properly.

Overall I would recommend Happy Harbor for a large event.

Side note:
Happy Harbor gave us a contact of a guy who did white seat covers with ribbons. That guy only had a two-person team and did not finish all 270 seats. In fact he stopped just under 20 tables and did not get any in the back room at all. He also set up with the spandex seat covers, which is not what the bride wanted.

The service is prompt and friendly. I went during their dim summer hour and we ordered up because everything looked so delicious. We were not disappointed with anything. The food certainly satisfied us. This is one of the best places for dim sum in Southern California. We drove from Orange County just to eat here.

It’s one of my favorite Chinese Sea Food restaurants. You can have fresh alive Lobsters, King Crabs, and many different types of fishes.
They offer small dishes too which you can get super fast. It’s a little bit pricey if you choose seafood. But it’s worth. This type of cooking way is less salt, sugar, oil, healthier than most restaurants.
Highly recommend! Give a try!

I rarely write reviews, but after reading some unfair comments about this restaurant, I felt upset and decided to share my honest experience.

My family and my sister’s family have eaten here many times over the past few months, and we all truly appreciate the chefs who prepare such delicious food every time we visit. We’ve tried almost everything — dim sum and dinner — and have enjoyed every meal.

In my opinion, even Newport Seafood can’t beat the Hong Kong–style lobster served here. The restaurant also offers a very generous deal — only $7.99 per pound for Boston lobster when you spend over $50 on dinner on weekdays.

Besides the lobster, other dishes such as tofu with seafood, shrimp with walnuts, and vegetables with bacon are all excellent. The portions are large, and the prices are very reasonable!

The customer service is good and makes you feel comfortable.

I’ve completely stopped going to Tan Cang (Newport) Seafood because the food here is simply better! Please don’t be misled by dishonest reviews — give this place a try and see for yourself!

The restaurant has been open for many years, and I used to eat fresh geoduck sashimi. Today, I ate a lot of authentic Cantonese food, as well as squab and roast duck at my family reunion.

Arrived around 11:30 and waited for 30 mins for our table, a very busy restaurant.
The food was pretty good, my favorite was chicken feet in abalone sauce, very juicy and flavorful, my sister loves their fried chives shrimp pork patties, we even reordered before we checking out. Other dim sums were all over average, we had 3 adult and paid for about $85 (after tax and tips). I think the price is fair. Be prepared for the line if you get there after 11:00, but after you have your favorite dish (for me was chicken fee), it’s worth it.

A traditional Dim-sum restaurant and almost the most famous and popular one in the neighborhood. A fancy decoration here with the golden color to be the main part. Large desks for 8+ are in the main hall and there is a small hall for the small groups. One must pay for the tea setting fee. The dim-sum are divided into different prices as the amounts and sizes are different. Pork Spare Ribs are generally good. The chiu Chow Style Steamed Dumplings are a little bit strange for the things inside. The BBQ Pork white Radish Pastry is not crispy at the bottom as some pork would leak outside. The Bean Curd Rolls with Cordyceps Flowers is great as the soup at the bottom makes me warm. The egg tarts for dessert are generally good. The Beef Chow Dun is a little bit less salty and feels plain in taste.

Good dim sum place that is not overly crowded. They even have a lobster special for about 24$ which was good. We had the rice congee. It was super rich. Dim sum reasonably priced and fast service. Give it a go if you are near Nogales St area.
