The Texicano bowl was fantastic. Everything tasted fresh and was obviously made with love. On top of that, the service was delightful and the wait was low (even though they were freshly preparing the steak with my meal) If you find yourself in the Hawthorne Asylum food carts, absolutely give them a try!

The Portland food cart scene is definitely no joke! Out of all the food carts I tried in the Asylum, Texicano was definitely my favourite. We ordered the Holy Mole fries, the Carne Asada Steak Texicano Bowl and the Carnitas Tacos Locos. Zero complaints on any of the food, and I literally scarfed down that Tacos Locos cause it was so good. The meat was melt in my mouth, and everything tasted so fresh. Extra glad that we ordered the housemade guacamole cause it was some of the best that I’ve had. Last but not least, do not skip out on the strawberry lemonade!! We originally got 2, but the rest of our group went back to order their own strawberry lemonades as they were the perfect refreshing drink on a hot day! 10/10 I just wish we had time to visit again!

My carne asada sandwich was SO good. I was worried the meat might not tear apart easily and that wasn’t the case at all. It was still pink, tender, and fell right apart when I bit into it. I added the texi verde sauce and I was super happy I did. The ingredients were fresh and crisp. The whole thing was AMAZING. 10/10 I will be eating here again.

Texicano makes really great food. I had the fried chicken sandwich. This sandwich had a nice little kick, not too much sauce. The chicken was tender and not overcooked, which I find happens when deep frying it. The menu has a lot to offer and it’s not your normal go-to food. The service was quick, and the server was pleasant. I will happily go back.

This is one of the best food carts at Hawthorne Asylum. They have so many options and delicious things on the menu to get. I keep coming back for the Tacos Locos and Twxicano bowl(get it with a side of avocado and throw it in the bowl. Highly recommend this place over everything else if you can’t decide on what to eat! You’ll be filled up and the food is soo delicious.

Texicano is a great TexMex food cart. The Texicano Bowl with carne asda is tasty. I appreciated that I could get my carne asada cooked to a perfect medium. Don’t let the size of the bowl fool you. I ordered double meat and struggled to finish.
