What truly sets Flipping Wings apart is their incredible lineup of unique sauces. My latest visit featured their Fire wings (delivering serious heat without sacrificing flavor) and their Stinger wings (that perfect sweet-spicy balance that’s absolutely addictive). Each sauce has its own distinct personality that you simply won’t find anywhere else.
The service deserves special mention – the staff is friendly, efficient, and clearly passionate about what they do. They remember regulars and take the time to make recommendations based on your preferences.
I’ve tried countless wing spots across town, but Flipping Wings has consistently proven to be my go-to, never disappointing no matter how many times I return. For anyone serious about chicken wings, this food truck is an absolute must-visit experience!
Fast forward a couple of years—new management, new employees—and unfortunately, that’s when things started to decline. The food lost its spark, and I ended up taking a break from the place for about a year. But then, I heard they made some changes to the staff, so I waited a little longer before giving it another shot.
Recently, I finally went back, and let me tell you—it’s back to the way it was when I first fell in love with it. In fact, I’ve already been three times in the past week! The wings are back to being flavorful and perfectly cooked, the staff is super polite and friendly, and overall, the experience is just as great as I remember.
If you’ve had a bad experience in the past, I highly recommend giving them another shot. One visit shouldn’t define a place forever—especially when they’ve worked hard to make improvements.
The pictures below feature their Mango Habanero and Old Bay (dry rub) wings, along with chili cheese fries—which are absolutely amazing. The seasoning on the fries? Top-tier.
So, if you’re in Clayton and looking for some fire wings, head back to Flippin’ Wings—you won’t regret it!
I enjoyed the flavor of the mango habenero, the lemon pepper dry rubs and their ranch dressing it great.
The bad:
First they had run out of napkins we were told we could get paper towel from the bathroom. Not the best solution for cleaning up after wings.
Our wings were under cooked and the young lady at the counter said they’ve had complaints about that before she did offer to cook some more for us but by that time we were done.
Edit: lol read owners response. As an owner, THAT’S the response. You can’t make this stuff up.
I smelled the burnt grease when I walked in. I wanted to give them a chance.
Got my food, burnt, grease was over cooked, no lemon pepper taste AT ALL!
I came for a lemon pepper wings craving. I had a potluck at work and was going to put an order in for wings .
I wanted to try them out 1st, then put a catering order in.
Nope! Going somewhere else!!
