I ordered Crab Benedict with a side of fired potatoes. It looked beautiful but my potatoes were under cooked and possibly not real. My eggs were cooked perfectly but the most important part was the crab cake which was Unfortunately artificial; all breading which ruined the taste of the entire dish. It is blk owned so I had to support.

Reasonably priced with plenty of food and good service for breakfast on a Saturday morning. Had French toast with 2 eggs, bologna and fried apples. The bologna was unexpectedly thick and delicious and eating the fried apples was like eating an apple pie without the crust. Meal was reasonably priced.

I used to love the traditional atmosphere there. Now, not so much. The floors do not have linoleum. Everything was clean, so it is not that at all.
The food and service was excellent. I had a club that filled me so much I needed a box. The ladies were so friendly. Each of them communicated with me. I’m definitely going back, I’ll just have to get over the naked floor.

This is the worst meal I’ve had! The meatloaf is dry and hard as well as the cornbread! When I called to speak to the manager to at least get a refund, they’ve left for the day and they don’t do refunds. My family and I will not return! $25 gone down the drain

The parking was easy with a decent sized lot in the back, which wasn’t very common in Richmond. We got there pretty early so there was no wait. The people were friendly and the service was great – my coffee mug never went empty! The chocolate chip pancakes were perfectly fluffy and the bacon nice and crispy.

While staying in Scott’s Addition, I stopped in here for breakfast on a weekday morning. The dining room there is quite large and I can see how they get very popular and crowded. The menu is loaded with all the typical breakfast usuals, nothing really stood out as being particularly special or homemade. I opted for their breakfast burrito and it was decent. The potatoes that came with it were very bland and basic. As for service, my server wasn’t very attentive, he was more concerned with eating his breakfast. The other ladies working were helpful and attentive, keeping my coffee filled.
The place did have a nice, family feel to it. I’m sure it’s normally really spot-on, both service and food. One thing I didn’t like was that they charge gratuity. Seems like there’s a better way to do this (charge more for the food or don’t do it at all).

Food is great and tasty. Very fast service. Omelette was fluffy as you would expect in any southern country breakfast/brunch places. I got a Philly steak omelette with fruits and toast. The thing that annoyed me is that they add 20% gratuity by default without properly mentioning it. I have been there twice, neither have I seen that notice anywhere, nor did they mention it on the menu. When I asked the waiter, she said it’s mentioned at the entrance, but I’m quite sure it’s not visible unless you are looking for it.

First time visiting this restaurant. i placed a to-go order for breakfast. heres my thoughts…

1st: the prices on the websites menu are cheaper than what i was rang up for
*the kids meal was $1.35 more, the philly cheese steak omelette was $4.05 more and the summit was $2 more… kinda misleading
ended up spending $55 on 2 meals and 1 kids meal which is pretty standard for a restaurant outing but again, the website displayed cheaper prices.

2nd: the food was good though, little bit on the greasy side. proportion size was decent, wait time was a little long given there was less than 5 customers there.

3rd: honorable mention to the biscuits & sausage links… i personally dont like biscuits but the ones they served were amazing. very soft, moist and taste good. the sausage links were probably the best i’ve ever had definitely not your average link

4th: as someone who has never been here, their menu says “home fries” which i assumed were french fries but they were just baked potato slices.. kinda seemed undercooked because they were mushy like mashed potatoes.. was kinda confused about that.

overall, not a bad little spot to get early morning breakfast once in awhile.

I just loved everything about this place. Staff was very nice and welcoming. Food was nice and hot, looked and tasted good. Very disappointed they were out of an item I wanted but the experience was pleasant.

Well, I had an urge to come back here, that’s now squashed and regretted. I couldn’t recall the food so I tried it again. I must say, the experience was not much different from what I was vaguely remembering. I’ll start with entrance – it’s a ‘neighborhood’ restaurant and the atmosphere is very basic. You are directed to seat yourself – sign is at the door. There is a variety of people from the neighborhood and that’s a good thing! They are welcoming once you find a spot to sit it. My first table selection was thwarted at my own will because there was a basket of someone from the area’s clothing cart parked next to it. I ordered the Broad St breakfast and selected salmon cakes as my protein, I wanted my home fries a little crisp! They came so HARD I couldn’t eat them. The waiter was nice and brought me a second order…he commented he wouldn’t have served them to me had he seen them on the plate like that! The lady who delivered the meal obviously didn’t care. I requested my eggs scrambled soft – they were cooked to perfection. Just the way I like them. I will say, the salmon cake was a bit dry and flavorless…one or two pieces of onion, but that’s it. I will say almost everything – and I do mean everything- had this ‘aftertaste’. Even my Pepsi! I’m not sure what it was. This trip has squashed that craving for good! Again, my waiter made it worth the trip, just not the food. Very very very BASIC and BLAND cooking! No flavor on any of the food!
Adding – Buyer beware: I know people work for tips! I respect that but let me choose what I want to pay. They charge 20% gratuity adding it to your bill…so if you get bad service, you’ll pay for it! If you get lousy food, you’ll pay for it! I won’t be back – EVER again. I bet I won’t forget this experience – I’m making a mental note this time! I knew I should’ve kept it moving, I had that feeling in the parking lot! Intuition- never ignore it!
