This place is a ripoff. While I didn’t have to order from kiosk, I ordered ahead of time. I remember the times when you’d show up at a Steak ‘n Shake and have friendly servers and it was busy and cheerful. This place was empty and impersonal. Fries were stingy with half of the bag filled. They were cold and limp, even with only driving less than a mile from our hotel to get food. Our no-bun kids meal didn’t have the condiments requested. It was just meat and cheese and looked unappetizing. Junior shakes are a joke for the $2 classic and $2.60 specialty upcharge. I wish I had a better experience like I have had in the past. A lot has changed.

Steak n shake is a prime example of why I cannot stand the modern dining experience. What was once a breath of fresh air is now a stressful kiosk experience. I used to love the great table service and kind waiter. Now you order from a kiosk as soon as you walk through door and have to scan your receipt to fill your cup. They don’t even bring your food out to your table.. and on top of all this they have the nerve to ask for a tip on the kiosk…

I usually come here when my girlfriend and I go on a cheap date sometimes and it is very good, the food, awesome, service was awesome, and the shakes are very good, but the only problem I have is every time I get a Dr Pepper as a drink option, it doesn’t even taste like Dr Pepper at all since it is so carbonated more than the flavor is. So I usually just stick with water if all else fails, just a little set back, but all in all, great place for a cheap bite to eat!!

While the food was good, it takes forever to put in your order at the kiosk, and then you have to use a QR Code to get a drink out of the fountain, and if you don’t scan ot just right you won’t be able to get your drink. In my opinion, they need to make the QR Code part of your Recite, bc people may not realize that they need to keep the QR paper and they end up trashing it and then they can’t get their drinks.
