Social Profile:

With high-quality made-to-order burgers, a ‘come as you are’ environment and a strange reverence for Chuck Norris, there’s no place else quite like Twisted Root. Way back before ‘gourmet burgers’ was a thing, Chefs Jason Boso & Quincy Hart decided to build a restaurant around half-pound, fresh ground burgers with a menu that allowed customers to build their own burgers with a list of crazy and inventive toppings. The two met in culinary school, after jobs in stock brokerages and telephone line repair. After paying their dues working the line at The Four Seasons & Pappas Bros, Jason & Quincy finally opened Twisted Root Burger Co. in the Deep Ellum neighborhood of Dallas, Texas in 2006. Twisted Root appeared on the second season of Diners, Dr

Gourmet burger chain with beef, turkey & vegan options (some offer game meats), plus spiked shakes.

There used to be a Twisted Root in my town and it closed a few years back. Imagine my surprise when I was headed to NRH for a hockey game and saw there was one close by! The food was as phenomenal as I remembered it to be (I ordered their veggie burger and my partner ordered their burger of the month; we shared their green chile queso fries) and they’re made-in-house pickles are always the highlight of my visits. Cannot recommend this place enough!! Will definitely be coming back next time I’m in the area.

A great stop for a good burger and great conversation! The Western Burger tasted incredible which was definitely unexpected with the combination of onion rings and jalapeños, but dang…what a perfect blend of ingredients! Don’t forget to stop by the pickle bar. Maybe someday I’ll brave the atomic pickle. Kudos to this location of Twisted Root and all the staff who work here!

The quality of the food has gone down compared to previous visits. The fries were burnt, and when we asked to replace them, the cashier seemed upset. On top of that, the bathrooms were very dirty, which leaves a poor impression of the brand. I think improving food preparation, customer service, and cleanliness would make the experience much better.

One of my favorite local spots where the money spent actually represents the quality of the food. Fried egg a must on your burger, double smoked bacon to add that extra crunch with hella flavor. Garlic aholi if you a garlic fan, big back sauce on the side just to try. Everything is good, only thing better is the customer service and guest interaction. My fiancee is now a huuuuge fan, we will keep coming back again.

For this to be our first meal of the day at 2pm this was very filling! We ordered everything extra well done and the tenders fried hard! Look at how beautiful they came out!! Literally like the picture! The fries were surprisingly good even tho they look greasy ! Thanks for the good meal!!

First time here! Found this spot via Google while searching for a good lunch and something new to try. After reading a few solid reviews, I decided to check it out.

Greeted upon entry, and the vibe definitely gave off something you’d expect from a place Guy Fieri would visit—or even own. It has a cool retro-industrial style atmosphere that felt fun and casual.

I was dining with one other person, and we ordered at the counter with Shawn C., who was awesome—efficient, upbeat, and had great customer service. Thank you, Shawn!

I ordered the Big Tex burger, hand-punched fries, a fountain drink, and a side of peppercorn ranch. I was told burgers are cooked medium well by default, but mine came out more medium, which was a little disappointing. The burger and fries overall were still 8/10—flavorful, fresh, and satisfying. I’d just ask for my burger to be cooked a bit longer next time (personal preference). I also tried the watermelon tea, but that unfortunately missed the mark for me, so I swapped it for something else.

One thing to note: the burger and fries aren’t priced as a combo, which I didn’t love, but it’s not a deal-breaker.

Thanks Twisted Root Burger Co. for a solid first-time experience—I’ll definitely be back

Twisted Root Burger in Bedford is a standout if you’re after a lively, casually fun burger joint with creative menu options and a character‑filled space. The food often hits the mark—juicy burgers, interesting toppings, and memorable sides—but the experience can vary. It’s worth heading over, especially if you enjoy build‑your‑own burgers, pickle exploration, or just a good time.

Worst burger ever. Burger was over cooked and dry. Absolutely no flavor. Onion straws were under cooked and soggy. Breading would not staying on the onion. Saturated in oil.

Been quite a few years so we dropped in on a Saturday night. Not too busy with half the restaurant filled. Wife ordered the Tree Hugger ($12.25) which was a black bean patty with loads of veggies. She liked it. I went with the Turcluckin ($14.50) which was underwhelming. We split an order of Onion Strings ($4.25) which was a soggy mess. The complimentary pickles were nice but not enough to lift this visit to a four star experience. Hate to say it, but there are just too many good burger spots in the area that this was likely the last Twisted Root meal.

Twisted Root Treated great on a Friday night. That night was also song bingo and a lot of folks turned out to have some fun. They have a bar with happy hr up the 7pm.

Customer service was excellent. They took care of a customer next to me that had a bad experience with the taste of a veggie burger they typically order.

I order the Millionaire because you are what you eat right. Hahaha. It was filling, you don’t need fries because it’s stacked with nice onion rings.

Also parking is limited. However you can overflow at the chase bank next door.
